Start with yourself

Many think it is impossible to change the world, but we see it constantly changing. To a large extent, Western culture has been shaped by the ideas of some minds that, by chance and causality, were decisive in the course of history.

Was the world the same after Aristotle, Freud, Gandhi or Einstein? Regardless of the opinion that everyone has about them, it is indisputable that their ideas permeated all strata of society to become cultural references known to all. Logic, the unconscious, freedom and relativity are essential concepts that inform our vision of the world.

Now, this reasoning proves the possibility of change but opens the door to a potentially damaging conclusion: That only the big ones can make a difference. We tend to accept this alternative too easily, to lock ourselves in our bubble and leave the world to others.

Understandably, life itself, with its everyday life, is sufficiently complex, and it is much more so when we try to involve others. What is the output then? Particularly I think that becoming passive agents is not an option. The answer is simple but implies a high level of commitment: Start with oneself.

Gandhi never uttered exactly the famous phrase: "Be the change you want to see in the world", but picks up the spirit of what each one, according to his abilities and circumstances, is called to do. Some will ask, and for what? We can say that we must do it to resolve, at least to some extent, our problems, the problems of the people, which often originate due to a lack of intellectual and emotional maturity, a lack of humanity in the highest sense of the word.

The world is closer to each of us than it has ever been before, we can communicate in real time without having to think about distances. This is why changing is not enough, you have to share it. There are not too small things, the difference is in the details. It can be a video, a conference, a movie, a song or a book, a speech, a blog post or a poem. Nobody can predict what will be the spark that ignites the flame, if it did something for you, it will probably do it for another.

To assume the responsibility of configuring oneself without dogmas or devotions to the ego, avoiding "isms", and sharing in the process those things that give meaning to life. Because we understand that the world is better when we recognize the other. Real happiness is shared.

You are doing great I put an effort in doing the second

What a deep thought you have here, the world is getting closer than we thought everyday by the advent of new ideas and technology, but we humans have yet to change to accept ourselves, sometimes we wish others were we and we ourselves is not the best, so what's the point, the point is whatever you want to see in others start with yourself, the good books says :Remove the mole in your eyes before pointing at the stick in others face.

Your words complement, I appreciate it.
