I like your point of view and it makes me think:
Wow! Can you imagine if extraterrestrials were the originators of religions? Maybe not directly, but surely a primitive civilization would see them as Gods and eventually end up idolizing and worshipping them.
Their counsel taken literally as commandments 
The puzzle is taking shape with the sum of the comments of all my fellow people
It's not such a crazy idea.
However that would not change my beliefs, I believe that what is important is the useful teachings of religions rather than their creators. Because like the songs and books that I like the most, I appreciate them for what they transmit, not for their authors or for their behavior. Of course, I wouldn't read or appreciate a book written by Hitler.
