Dating is the stage of a relationship where both of you get to know each other. There's nothing wrong in knowing his family history on the first date. Beside, you should even be grateful to him because he has given you some clues about himself that would help you decide if you want to see him again or not.
Both men and women feel pressure to be at their best during a date because everyone is trying to impress the other person and have a chance of seeing the person again should the person turn out to be someone that he/she truly likes. Dating is very interesting if you try to be yourself and don't expect too much from your date. Try to know the person first before you start expecting

I like the fact of the, honer to have him telling me his history, my iffy is the reson for telling me...
