What kind of reward system when millions join the blockchain steam. Steempower holders will be a rare breed.Most of the upvote time will be 'like' the same as social media these days. I believe even having only 1000 Steempower will be special.
Payments will go down because Steemprice goes down and because users with Steempower choose the most. If you are here because you love to create content regardless of anything you will be fine!

Good point. There are reasons to use the Steemit blockchain other than just to monetize content. An ad-free, censorship-resistant social network? Yes please!
Also, as users/content/front-ends expand, this entire ecosystem acquires value independent of the coin. Similarly, STEEM could one day be used outside the social network for regular p2p payments.
