You know what would be really cool?
Make a simple old-school style arcade game like this and connect it to a Steem payout system -- highest daily/ weekly scores get X% cut of the payout, 2nd gets Y% cut, 3rd gets Z%, etc. (could go all the way down the line to the worst score, or throw out extreme outliers).
I'm pretty sure you could code the payout system to be completely automated (not entirely sure, since I don't know the least bit about programing) and we could have a Steemit account devoted to providing the daily/ weekly payout through "donation posts" -- ideally these posts would also provide some value besides being the bank-roll for the next payout (maybe they could provide stats for the different users over the last x, y, and z periods and have special bonus prizes for monthly leader-boards or for holding a top scoring position for x amount of day, etc).
The account owner could (and should) get a % cut of the post payout and the rest can be distributed out to the "gamers" and a bit to bonus prizes.
You know you really could be on to something there! I actually think there would be quite an interest in something like that. Everyone loves retro games. All that's needed is some pesky developers!!
I'm game...for the game playing part :)
It's all about the game!!
Game or a I power down! Not really, but I really want the game :(
It looks a fabby game!Dont power down! Not till steem hits the ten dollar mark anyway! :O)
Thats a fantastic idea. but please make a game like i played when i was young. just a jotstick and 1 firebutton.. Not like the consoles of today... i must think to long to know what button to press.. I had a C64 and amiga and atari.. maybe we can vote for a game... mine = The Great Giana Sisters
Agree on the simplistic controls.
I wouldn't mind anything from Pac Man to Donkey Kong (arcade classic) to Tetris to Frogger to Galaga. I have to admit, I've never heard of The Great Giana Sisters. I might have played it before without knowing the name of it, though.
Man giana sisters is a classic. Looks like Mario. If you search it on internet you find it easily. I am curious if you played it. But indeed it must be a simple game with simple controls.. https://classicreload.com/giana-sisters.html
Just looked it up...and, you're right, it looks a lot like Mario. I never played it, but I'd definitely give it a go because I LOVED Mario as a kid and still enjoy playing it to this day.
Ok let me know.. There are so much classic games nowadays you can just play in your browser. what was you most favorite one?
My favorite would have to be Super Mario 3, Mario World in a close second.
I bought Super Mario All-Stars for Super Nintendo, around the time that it came out, and probably got somewhere around 1,000 hours of play out of it!
