Summer has started and if you're like me, you might have put on a bit of weight over the past few months but are now looking to lose some weight and get that nice summer body!
Here are my top 5 tips for weight loss:
1. Drink Water - Water is AMAZING. Most people don't drink nearly enough so they don't reap the benefits of water. Water sky rockets your metabolism, cleans your body of waste, and is also an appetite suppressant. Aim for around 2 litres a day to aid with weight loss.
2. Don't skip a meal - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is important not to skip a meal as your body needs food for your metabolism. Skipping a meal will restrict your body from the nutrients it needs to stay active and healthy. So have a big breakfast, it's for the best!
3. Cut down on alcohol - Alcohol is full of calories, some more than others. For example one beer is the equivalent of eating 7 slices of bread, that's crazy!! You don't have to completely cut it out, (if you do you will see results faster), just reduce your intake over the week and it will help.
4. Don't have bad snacks - Bad snacking is terrible, we all love it and we all do it, but bad snacking is just awful. Instead of a chocolate bar, or a packet of crisps, or a slice of cake, have some fruit as a snack. In between meals limit yourself to one snack and have a piece of fruit, it can be an apple, a pear, a banana, you choose! Snacking is a tough habit to break but it really prohibits weight loss.
5. Exercise - Maybe quite an obvious one, but important nonetheless. Just dieting will make you lose weight, but the second you come off that diet you will put all the weight back on. It's important to exercise so you can keep that fat off! Weight loss is 90% what you eat and 10% exercise. But please exercise, it is so so so important.
