Artist's work is not only painting. That's only part of it. What comes to mind for most people is that it also requires preparation of canvases, social media, blogging, all sorts of marketing and client communication. But for me, it's also about carpentry work.
I basically built everything in my studio besides the walls. I built the loft, all the shelves, roof garden etc. I wrote a blog about it long time ago.
Today, after much reflection, I realized that I have to build new storage space above the fridge so I can get two pieces of furniture out of the way (an old chest where I put kitchen stuff and small wardrobe for clothes) and make the studio look more professional, not like my living room.
The challenge was- I didn't want to buy no new materials. Not that a sheet of 8feet long plywood would fit in my BMW coupe :) So I decided to build it from scraps that I had in the studio and two shelves I found outside, someone threw them out.
It was lots of work but also lots of fun! Judge for yourself, I documented the process for you in photos.

This is how it looked before I started
Cuttting to appropriate dimension. And yes that's my bike. I love it very much!:)
adding more shelves
Trying how it fits
Adding the front wall so visitors don't see my personal stuff
First time in place!
Front view before final piece of wood on top
Last piece got glued in
Now this mess was horrible. I will spare you details of pictures of mice pee and poo when I pulled the couch away. It was just too much. I had to vacuum and handwash it three times!
Things falling in place finally!!!
Finally cleaned up! Had to put loads of tea tree oil on my hands to kill the germs...
***This corner is dedicated to my mother (R.I.P. beloved) and small landscape paintings I painted decade ago in my home country = Czech Republic
Just to make sure that the inside is disinfected too, I downed a quick Czechvar....aaaaah so good!
Neo was my loyal companion
:)
Thank you for reading and for appreciating my efforts by a comment or upvote or both or none, God Bless you !
And Don't forget: Do not get upset by people or situations. Both are powerless without your reaction ;)
.
Next time I will show you pictures of how the studio looked before and after I got those two mentioned pieces of furniture out of the way. The difference will be lovely!

Much Love,
Peace,

Knew about all the other stuff (and definitely the social media stuff which I never do properly coz I hate it 🤣), carpentry would only have vaguely occurred to me. Always useful to have practical skills! (Good idea I need some of those too 😆)
I’m sorry I laughed so hard at your reactions to the mouse excretions, impolite little housemates they are! 🤣

Oh yeah and mice HAIR for God's sake! Like they losing hair when having sex or something! Haha. Thanks for the comment my friend :)
Hey Jan, happy birthday to us man. I was just curious if you ever made a blog about your working table, I would like to make one for myself. The dimensions or maybe a picture of the whole table would really help me accomplish my goal.
look like it isn’t that easy to make it happen! So proud of you:)
