Sure, I've been both in different circumstances.
I've taken big stances.
Thinking that rich people were evil, or that they misunderstood some aspect of life.
Thinking that poor people could get the same things that rich people could get. Just different versions of those things.
I lived at a house for a couple of years that had no water and no air conditioning.
We made it a point to go to the bathroom at our job. Then, we would brush our teeth with bottles of water in the morning. We took showers at the local gym.
I never thought anything about it at the time. My shirts had white stains in the armpits. I had to buy new shirts quite often. Those stains were from the salt that came from sweat.
I also had periods in my life when I was doing well. Making lots of money.
Those periods are long gone.
I look at things and I see the differences between how it used to be and how it is now.
In 2008, you could buy a large Jumbo Jack for one dollar. You could get fries for a dollar, and you could get Coke for a dollar.
So, you could pay $3 and change and have a pretty nice meal.
On the other hand, you could pay for a fancy version of the Jumbo Jack with fries and a drink and end up spending $10 or more.
It was the same thing wherever you went.
Nowadays though, the poor option has vanished.
Not only that, the Jumbo Jack and the Whopper and every other fast food burger has gotten a lot smaller.
I don't actually eat fast food. I do buy a lot of meat though.
A bag of chicken was $5.82 in 2020.
That same bag of chicken is $15.73 right now.
It amazes me that no one seems to be complaining about this.
I don't know anyone that's making more money.
Everything has gone up in price so much that it feels like you're either rich, or you're more than rich.
The cheap options are gone wherever you go.
I guess it's just the nature of the universe, but it really does strike me as odd.
Maybe I never really understood anything about money.
It's all good you gonna get it !PIMP
I appreciate the positive vibes. The world certainly seems a lot different than it did in 2017 when everything was up and up.
Aw man @bitcoinman, you are out of PIMP to slap people.

Hey, have you been away for a while?
Yes, working on other things. I had an accident a couple of years ago and I'm never going to recover from it, but I can't get disability. So, that's a struggle. Nevertheless, I'm writing. Other platforms. How have you been brother?
Oh that's a bummer. Life just loves to throw obstacles in the way doesn't it? Good to hear you are still writing regardless of where.
I am good, still ploughing on, if I stop I might not get started again!
I have had more and I have had less over my lifetime. I don't know if that is normal. I tried to learn to adapt to the changes as best I could figure out. I will say though, that I think I have always had enough, I mean in that, my basic needs were met and I didn't ever have to go without food, although I did have to stretch some budgets till they were see-through from time to time.
The good prices are horrid. I hear folks talk about it a little, but then, what can you do, you either buy it or you don't. I would totally hate to be responsible for feeding even a medium sized family these days. I don't know how people do it.
Add on top of that, employers can't seem to get enough good help and I wonder, what are all those people doing now that are not working? How are they getting by? I don't know the answer to that.
Good to see you back in the Hive!
Food prices and up as are many other prices. The cheap options are in crypto right now. :D
One bright spot - did you know HBD pays 20% interest when you put it in savings which locks it for just 3 days? And HBD has been very stable for quite a while.
Hope to see you here regularly if you decide to do that. Best wishes!

I didn't know that. I still have to figure a lot of this stuff out. Sounds like a good deal though. I'm definitely going to look into it.
It's good to see you again Kenny.
