"Mama Milcah's 58th Birthday Celebration"

Her birthday was also the fiesta celebration of Sto. Niño here in the Philippines. I had to go to a certain place here in Iligan City that celebrates Sinulog so I could feature it here in Steemit. Mama took care of my son while I was out. But before I left, my siblings and I were planning on what to do on Mama's birthday. We wanted to bring her in the city, go to church and eat outside. But my mother doesn't like that. She doesn't want to spend a lot of money. So my siblings and I decided that we will just have a simple celebration in the house.
While I was at the Sinulog Festival, it was my sibling who prepared the food and the house. They prepared grilled pork, grilled fish, fruit salad, ice cream, and cake. It was just enough for me and my family. Then our Barangay Captain asked me if where is my mom. I said that she doesn't want to eat at other house during her birthday. They didn't know that it was my mom's birthday that day. Then our Barangay Captain decided that we will buy a bouquet of flowers and give it to my mama. She was planning a surprise for mama.

After the Sinulog Festival, we went to the city and bought a bouquet of flowers. While the salesboy arranged the flowers, I went into another store and bought a sling bag as a gift to my mother because she kept on mentioning to me that she saw my cousin posting the bags that she's selling on social media. So that gave me an idea on what to give on mama. We also bought antorium flowers that we will be giving individually to mama like what people usually do in a debut.

As we were heading home, I called my brother that we are on our way home. I told him not to tell my mother about our surprise which was prepared by our Barangay Captain and some of the co-workers of mama in the Barangay Hall.
When we arrived at our house, my mama was really shocked because she saw that we are many and the food that they have prepared is not really enough to feed all of us. But she was more surprised with the bouquet of flowers and the gift that I bought. She said that it was her first time to receive that kind of bouquet of flowers.

Then we let her blow her candles and we sang her a Happy Birthday song. I led the prayer for the food and we blessed her and gave her our wishes for her birthday.

Though we did not prepared much food, but thank God that it was enough to feed all of us. What's important is that we made my mama happy on her special day.
