The book of the week is, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho
This is my second favorite book behind The Power Of Now. If you haven't read this book, I highly suggest getting your hands on a copy.
What I got out of this book, is what true alchemy is. True alchemy isn't turning anything you touch into gold.
True alchemy is making the best out of the worst, and not allowing external events govern your internal condition.
We have to start embracing the bad times that happen to us, and not let bad times take our energy, and time away.
We have rough days sometimes, and I still have bad days time to time. What will make the difference if your day is bad, is how you respond to the bad day.
You see, how you respond to a situation is far more powerful. Everyone just lets a bad day take over their whole day.
We can't do that anymore, and we have to make a change to our response. In order to do that, we have to change our approach.
To be a true alchemist, I say we have to change two things. We have to change our vocabulary, and our expression to a bad day.
Instead of saying that my life sucks to a bad day, instead we can say, "This is only temporary, this shall pass". Action may speak louder than words, but words can be just as powerful.
In order to change our expression, we have to start laughing and smiling more to a bad day. If you are having a bad day, and you have negative thoughts appearing in your mind, just laugh it off.
Just laugh and smile it off, and the negative thought will go away.
So I highly recommend this book to anyone. You will notice a lot of life lessons in the book as well, and you will that me for recommending the book to you! :)
