What would you do if someone is being racist on you?
Racism still does exist. That is undeniable although we are already living in this 21st century. It is disheartening to know that these people's way of thinking has remained "medieval". Their way of treating others is just completely sickening.
(Note: I do not want to name the country where she is travelling from and the exact place where the incident happened because I want to avoid judgement and generalization to those other natives coming from that country. I also do not want to name my friend to keep her privacy.)
Just so recently my friend had the chance to travel around some scenic views in country X as this place is so famous for flora and fauna. She went to that one particular "a must tourist destination" where the sea is magnificent. It is surrounded with greeneries and jaw dropping rock formation. The waves are just suitable for surfers, the sand is like sugar, and the water is just so tempting as they look perfectly cyan.
Well, basically that sea is not open for swimming as it is one of the National Reserves in that country. There's just a particular look out where travelers can stay for a while and enjoy the wondrous place and take photos.
As she told me, she went down to that wooden ladder to go to that perfect spot for picture taking. That particular place is at the bottom where she can surely see the great waves. As she reached the place, she saw only two people a man and a woman in early 50s and she assumed that they're couple.
She started taking photos of the great view, as she moved closer to them, surprisingly this couple somehow never gave her a way to go farther. So she stepped back and just enjoyed seeing the place. Then later she realized that this couple gave way to other two people whose color is same as theirs. That's when she realized that there was something.
When the couple somehow had had enough with the view they walked past at her and had "a look" on her while heading to the car park. She followed them, well, literally trailing them though she was not fully satisfied with the view yet and see what she could do. In the main car park they saw one another and the couple especially the woman couldn't help herself but gave my friend a stare. Interestingly, my friend's car was parked where the couple should really pass.
My friend stopped just in front of her car and opened her Benz. The couple somehow painted a surprise on their face. Funnily enough, the couple's car was just two cars away from my friend's.
As my friend told me, it was hilarious seeing the couple who couldn't stop staring at her while they drove away with their not renowned vehicle.
In this modern society where cars are a status symbol, my friend made the best revenge.
Racism is still existing. It comes in different forms and it happens in different situations and in many places. Education plays an important role in fighting it. We should make a stand against racists. And let's choose to fight them gracefully and professionally.
