In My Head: Just Keep Swimming

in #life ā€¢ 7 years ago (edited)

Hi There šŸ˜Š

I have always used my laptop to post on steemit. But today I thought Iā€™d try my phone so as not to miss my mission of one post a day (this is day 2). I will be honest, my fat thumbs feel extra fat today and I can only hope I am not going to end up posting gibberish.

Itā€™s much easier on the laptop of course. All my windows are open, allowing me to do my research, source for pictures, check on other posts if I need some clarification and listen to music for inspiration. But thatā€™s me waiting for the right time and this has not been helping me with being consistent which is a key factor in making anything work.

And so here I am at Kompleks Renang Kuala Lumpur where the MSSWP Aquatics Championship is being held. This is at state level where those who make the qualifying time will be chosen as national swimmers for the year.

And thatā€™s my son waiting his turn. Sport is a very good example of consistency. This boy trains at least 4 times a week, 2 hours a day. Rain or shine. Exam or holiday. The elite swimmers put in way more time. And this is really the only way to hit their goals unless they are Superman or The Flash.

There are times he is not in the mood, not feeling it .... the coach has no time for these sentiments. You donā€™t make time, you are punished with burpees or push-ups or more swimming than the ones who do. And there are times, I am nagging him because heā€™s not giving his all, not focused and I have on many an occasion told him to give up competitive swimming so he can have more time for fun (mummy too can have more time). And he stands his ground and tells me NO. ā€œPlease let me continueā€.

So yes, my mission now is, to post at least once every single day, rain or shine, Work or holiday!

Keep it going! I see a lot of effort on your side too! It takes a lot to have the consistency to chauffer him (and the 3 others) around.

I try šŸ˜Š @ladylei ... but sometimes got meltdown haha

lol! what's new?

How did your son do? Best of luck to him!

thank you @dxn ... my son needs more training ....or growing haha... the older/bigger boys in his age group are slaying it ... they are like at least a head taller
