The title of this blog does not deceive you. Li Ching Yuen is potentially the oldest person record illustrates. Is he the oldest person who lived on this earth ..my guess is no, but evidence suggest he is the oldest we know off.
Documents endorsed by the New York Times prove that Li Ching Yuen, in the year 1877 lived beyond his 200th birthday. There are birthday congratulations from infamous Professors such as Wu Chung- Chieh celebrating Li Ching Yuen double century.
Studying this man it is believed many sources of his diet helped him attain his long last life. When I say diet ..understand I mean beyond the food diet. I am talking about his psychological diet, his emotional diet, spiritual diet.
In regards to his food diet, accounts state that Li Ching Yuen primarily survived on natures gratitude. He ate predominantly herbs, which from young was his job; picking and attaining mass amounts of herbs from the mountains. For almost a century Li Ching Yuen lived on goji berry, rice, Gotu kola, Lingzhi and wine. His food diet aligned with his occupation of gathering such herbs, which could be attained places such as Tibet and Kansu. After a century of hoarding such longevity potentiates, Li Ching Yuen began to sell his herbal fountain of youth.
After enduring his second century, it is recorded that an admirer of Li Ching Yuen; Wu Pei Fu asked the 256 year old of the critical elements of survival of such long duration. Li Ching Yuen responded with his trademark principle of life “walk spiritually like a pigeon, sit like a tortoise, sleep like a dog, and most importantly ..keep a quiet heart.”
WHY THIS PHILOSOPHY WOULD NOT WORK IN THE WESTERN WORLD
This incredible philosophy of life illustrates that a diet expands beyond what you just eat. But what your mind and spirit also intake. Within the Western world, it is unfortunately difficult to not intake pollution. The food is not fresh, which decreases our levels of vibration (blog explaining this coming soon!) and in turn reduces years of our lifespan.
Additionally, the glorious environment of Tibet, being surrounded by sunshine and natures beauty is a rare feature within the western world. In fact, the air pollution inhaled causes us years within our lifespan also. Furthermore, Li Ching Yuen lived a purposeful life, this gave his life meaning, made him more happier to wake up in the morning. The way the western civilization is built, civilians are working within a job role they hate, feeling like a slave, awaiting the weekend to pour intoxication into our bodies so we can escape the shackles of society, causing us further years on our lifespan.
Although it is probably impossible living up 256 years in the Western world ..I do feel we can implement Li Ching Yuen philosophy to increase the happiness within our lives. The longetivity is not the secret to Li Ching Yuen’s life ..but the simplicity he lived by, that entailed him living an enjoyable life..to which he gracefully quoted, "I have lived harmoniously and done everything" on his deathbed.
What Herb was it?? I need to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goji berry and Gotu Kola were two. When you retrieve them remember me ;)
beautiful and true. We should learn more from the old times and tradition, and community, to live better; moreover, we should learn to listen actively.
For sure! There such riches and beauty in tradition

I really lobely and interesting post! Just wow! Imagine for loving for so long! I like what he said about simply "keeping a quite heart"...we really are our own worst enemies to our bodies! Much love, @sweetpea
Most definitely! We are our own worse enemy! Often we tend to look at the complex things for a peaceful life when it is the simplest things that make the biggest difference
Amazing...!!
Most definitely!
Yes, above all, the people of your time have lived much longer. My grandfather died with more than 100 years of age and I travel from town to town by public transport until the last day of his life. My father has 73 years old and he looks like 50s or 60s and he is very strong, I have much old family and they looks more younger than they are. I'm 25 and I look a little more younger.
