How pass the time! It was a summer when I start my account, and now we a practically in the middle of winter. So, the story continue. Meanwhile I was in university in November ( Im studyштп in absentia at a local university) my chief decide that my services as fitter is too expensive and fired me. According to Laboral Codex is illegal, but: if a worker has a temporal contract no one can obligate a nobody to renew it. So it’s a great possibility to employers and it’s practically impossible to find a job with a good contract. Maybe not across the country, maybe it happens only in my town, but I know a lot of story from different people that encountered such situation.
And I pass an autumn looking for a job and finally find two of them, so now I’m a part time car mechanic and a part time lumberjack! Yes! Another lines at my curriculum! How long I was dreamed about that. Sarcasm.
I have nothing to said about my carmechanical job, but I would like to tell about how is to be a lumberjack in Siberia and entertain the venerable audience. Let’s begin!
The working day start at 8AM with preparing the old and capricious truck. It should be changed for the good one directly at fabric, but we are the Russians and a day without selfmade problems it’s a wasted day. So, every morning we start with technical review and praying to machines gods for mercy for our local descendant of Ford family.
At 9AM the journey begin. At half way the stove in cabin said his last word and died. Driving in that conditions remembered to me the stories of polar pilots in 30s. You know: ”Zero visibility. Go on devices”. But we haven’t any navigation devises, so I was to scratch the ice from windshield meanwhile another was driving. At 10AM we finally reached the last settlement before entering the woods and went to looking some blowtorch or similar. Typical situation, nothing to worry about.
The another trouble was waiting for us in the woods. Everything was bad. The trees did not want to fall, the chainsaw was damaged and cut only when it decide to cut. And the sun was going, making us work as fast as we could…
The rest of a day we was loading the truck and fucked when that old bastard stuck in the snow. Imagine yourself in the middle of nowhere, with stucked truck and wet clothes, fatigued, in dark forest with 33 C below zero. And with last cigarette to finish me off. The perfect time to remember the stories about Leshiy. If the thing was worst there is no one to write this story, so I borrow the boring part of walking throw the night wood.
The best part of that job there is no supervisor, no time obligation, no medical insurance. All you have is a truck and chainsaw, like in the goods old days. You change your labour for a money directly, without nobody in middle with that crap of taxes, insurance, civil obligations. The bad part is that you never be rich like Brunei sultan with that kind of time spending. If you have a child who behaves badly let him read this story and said him, what people have to do for money if they missing their classes. It worked with my junior cousin.
So, I hope that the story was entertaining and you liked reading it as I liked to write it. See you later.
