We can learn to access the unconditional love within ourselves and as we keep focusing on this unconditional love, it teaches us that happiness is first generated within ourselves and only by first generating happiness within that we can enjoy the world truly.
If a person stops generating happiness within, all the possessions in the world, all the fame in the world, all the longevity in the world, nothing can give an equivalent happiness to a person. These objects can give temporary pleasures, but never the happiness that we can feel inside our hearts.
So, the people who seem to have more of these forms than you in fact have nothing superior to you in essence. The only thing worthy of envying is awakening to the happiness within, because it is freely available and it will not harm anyone that we awaken to this happiness, to this love. On the contrary, our awakening can help and inspire other people, show them that a person can start to enjoy life and become peaceful even though their circumstances seem impossible or difficult to be happy in.
Finding happiness within satisfies the mind, and when you truly feel this happiness, the envy you feel for others will cease, because your mind will be satisfied with the happiness coming from within. It is only a belief that objects give happiness, when one examines this in depth, one will find that happiness comes from deeper than the objects, it is only our belief that happiness comes from objects that create the illusion that they give us happiness.
If objects could give happiness, every person could become equally happy with the same objects, but observing the world we can see proofs that different objects mean different things to different people and one object seems to make a person happy while the same object means nothing to another person.
We must look within ourselves to discover the truth of this by first hand experience and in this way we will be releasing these ideas that were taught to us in this world. Don’t we sooner or later discover that what we had been chasing after all along does not make us happy any longer? We may feel a temporary happiness due to the newness of an experience.. but then we start chasing after objects again.. what if we could find a permanent happiness that was independent of objects coming into our experience?
Meditation can teach how to find this happiness within, just by our inner effort. It is basically you learning how to look inward. We can do this without someone teaching us, this skill is inherent in everyone, but an already wise teacher can teach how to focus inward effectively among all the distractions and habits we already have in our life.
We are always free to work to acquire objects, but it is a greater freedom to be able to happy independent of objects and also be able to choose to create any experience we desire with the objects.
@kanggary The online market place is a wonderful industry for truth of the matter and lies. Now it is actually quite challenging to acknowledge where by the reality is.
I agree with you.

What is that "happiness" that we could encounter within, in meditation? Is it one that keeps you bubbling with joy indefinitely when you get back to your normal waking awareness? Is it an unassailable state that props you up no matter what happens to you in your normal awareness? Having said that, it is most likely that such happiness could be an infinite variety of things to people who are fortunate enough to attain it. Peace might be a more appropriate term for many people in what they attain in meditation and bring back with them to their normal awareness, Meditation is said by many masters that lived, to be an important if not an indispensable practice for people. Christ, supposedly, said that the kingdom of heaven is within. Perhaps for many people it would be an opportunity to rest the mind and one's self from the uncontrolled and ever chattering mind. It could be a means by which we could possibly have dominion over ourselves before we consider the biblical exhortation for us to have dominion over the world.
I like what you are thinking.
