I have another dreaded assessment on Friday at The Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) were i have to prove I'm disabled.
I have a medical file so thick they have had to start a 2nd file. I have been disabled since 1995, who in there right mind would pretend there disabled. I never leave the house, i have no social life, i take a lot of medication, i live with constant pain but i still have to prove I'm unfit for work. TALK TO MY GP, RHEUMATOLOGIST, SURGEON you know the people that know me.
I have to sit there whilst some non medical assessor asks me questions about my disability.
Wouldn't you rather go to work in pain than sit in the house in pain

I HAVE 2 DAUGHTER'S WHO NEED ME
Can you lift a kettle, cup, plate etc
YES I CAN DO IT ONCE OR TWICE BUT I CAN'T KEEP DOING IT ALL DAY EVERYDAY
Every time i go to one of these i feel as if they are looking down on me, they don't believe you. My hubby calls it a Cattle Market.
I would love them to come stay at my house and watch me for as long as they want, i would love them to go through what i do daily, i would love to be able to give them my pain just for 5 minutes so they know what it feels like.
Just because i smiled doesn't mean I'm not having black thoughts, just because i am breathing doesnt mean i feel alive, just because i am dressed today doesn't mean i can do it everyday.

These people are paid to kick you off disability. They are heartless SOB's. Perhaps you need to go in for the interview in your pj's, fuzzy slippers and hair uncombed and just say it was a day you couldn't do it...
I am tempted plus not get washed for a week haha see there faces then lol

I'm sorry you have to go through this I just went through mine and it wasn't scary at all like I thought it would be I think you'll be just fine you are truly disabled and they'll see that prayers for you Friday
I have been to so many since the change over, I have been disabled for over 20 years. I was given it for indefinite then when things changed i have been to 4, this one was done by a nurse who knows my problems not a wannabe. It was a good today, she was really nice, now just got to wait for the letter :)
I cannot say I know how you feel, but I can relate in a small way. I swear my doc thinks I love being fat! Like its a simple choice. I DREAD going to the docs. I hate the talking down crap!
I have a nurse like that but she needs to loose weight herself. Thankfully the lady today was really nice :)
