I had to go out to the shops today to pick up a few things we had run out of, Now the weather is a lot better i didn't mind going out. Its still wet and cold but no Snow.
Me and hubby went to Asda, whilst he was busy i went to have a look at what they had available for the garden. They don't have a big selection as its not the Biggest Supermarket. They had these Solar Garden Lights available, they were only 89p each so really not expecting much, if they look good in the dark then I may go for better ones. These also change colour, I thought they would light up my Bee & Butterfly corner lighting up the Lavender once it is planted.
I have pulled the battery saver out then stuck them in the soil where the Lavender is going to sit. They have flashed and changed colour but can't quite make them out when it is light or they may need a few hours of sun to boost them.
I may buy a couple more for my plant pots depending on how well they work.
With the weather change over the last few days i had to cover up a few plants just in case the snow killed them off. I had planted a few Cornflowers when the weather was good. I covered them up with frost sheeting, today i took then sheeting off and thankfully my plants still look OK.
I am going to wait until Monday keeping an eye on the weather before i fill a few more pots. My next move will be planting my Vegetables out into there green bags. These bags are a good size and very deep which will give the Vegetables more room to grow.
I am ready for my garden just got to wait for that big ball of fire in the sky to hot up.
Thank you @son-of-satire
I like those little solar lights. What a great price. They will look lovely at night.
I'm waiting for warmer weather here, too. But we are getting clouds and rain.
As long as they work, i have my fingers crossed as would like a few in each pot :)
Win bingo, now you can afford a light in each pot, flower or veggie.
The extra light at night might make them grow bigger and stronger.
Have a look for long strings of lights as well, then you can drape them over things.
That's what i was going to do to brighten up the houses :)
Good thinking, we had one around the clothesline that lasted 18 months, sun, wind, and rain.
They will look lovely out on a Summers night :)
In summer, by the time they shine, it is bedtime.
Stick some on the bedroom wondow,
Just for show, see how you go..
🙃🙃
I will have to buy loads to fill my gardens :)
As the Actress said to the Bishop "Take your time, Honey"
They are as cheap as,
I hope these lights work well😊
So do I 😊
It's great to see how you work in your garden every day
Thank you ❤
You are welcome. How are you?
I am coming down with a cold, i have sore throat and starting to cough, Its the constant changes in the weather. Hope your OK 💖
What a bad dear Karen, I hope you're better soon. I'm fine you know living one day at a time
Also waiting for the weather to warm up here in Indiana. But I do have a few things in the ground - cabbage, onions, broccoli. Can't wait until that last frost date! Love your little planter!
Thank you, I look forward to hearing more about your garden :)
Hopefully those solar lights get some sun so we can see some action.
I may have to re-position them if the sun doesn't come out :)
