#19 The Week That Was...

in #life7 years ago (edited)

It was a week of madness since my last post on Steemit.

Last weekend, I took some time out to attend the farewell gathering for @superoo7 before he flew to Perth to further his studies. The small gathering at Big Hug Burger, SS15 was attended by husband and wife team - @davidke20 and @francesaw with their kids, @bitrocker2020, @orangila, @namchau, @hooiyewlim, @littlenewthings, @chloephuan93, @joannewong, @aaronleang, @aaronmcheong and @eliselai (@superoo7's sister). This smart and intelligent guy has certainly make his presence felt in #teammalaysia. When he is not busy powering up the bots making sure they are live and kickin, he will be guiding new Steemians on Discord. I am confident he will make a serious mark in the Perth tech scene and make #teammalaysia proud.

My week kicked off in a flurry of activities with the visit of a foreign counterpart who was in town for the first half of the week. In between jetting off from one appointment to the next, cafe hopping to getting stuck in the rush hour traffic, I was glad to find some pockets of time to reflect and ponder on the chain of events that occured over the last couple of months.

Everyday presents a new opportunity to succeed, to learn and to course correct.

As Chinese New Year approaches, once again it's time to bring out the broom for a major spring cleaning. Time to clear the stubborn dirt of yesteryears, the cobwebs that I had conveniently ignored, the hidden corners that had gathered dusts and to finally discarding the junk that I no longer used. It's time to make room for something much bigger, better and bolder in life.

So how has your week been thus far?

Missed the awesome yummilicious gathering... Not easy to juggle among work, family, Steemit and ME time... But lucky to be able to steem all the time everytime everywhere...
VP getting lower so here's a tip! for you.

Thanks for the tip @elizacheng! No worries, there will be plenty of gathering in future

hello iam steemit indonesia
if you wish to follow and vote me

Hi @khairulmtm. Thanks for reading. I just drop you a tip on how to resize your images using a free tool as an alternative. Good luck

I was just telling a mutual friend (ok wait, I think we both know him but I can't seem to remember who is now...) that of all the Januaries I had over the years, this has to be the busiest. Probably time to sit down and reflect too. Because busy is not always equal accomplishments. Probably over subscribing myself, and STEEMIT IS NOT HELPING!

Busy is not always equal accomplishments
Totally agree with that statement. Busy isn't always equal to productivity. Quantified results is more important.

Well Mav, with an average of 2 to 5 posts a day coupled with your attention to detail I hereby certify you as a Steemit addict. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this addiction. But since the side effect of this addiction is bagging countless amount of Steem and SBD, I don't think you will be going cold turkey any time soon ;)

No lar, only 3 a day. If I find some weird stuff then it's just Steepshots.

Sad truth is, sometimes those photos make the same amount as a long post :(

You got it totally right on that @maverickfoo .

Sometimes we just need to learn to either take a smaller bite of our own effort to chew the projects well, (before we get a heart burn literally) or learn to delegate our work.

haha

For me, I am lucky that I can work from home.. and Dec & Jan has been busy, and there are many days where I just make sure not to leave my home for a few days so that I can get as many things done as possible...

Same here..I try to batch my tasks as much as possible else I get nothing done. Steemit itself is time consuming what more our other day to day demands. Striking a balance and exercising discipline is key

You are totally right on that @karindailygrind . @superoo7 is #teammalaysia 's gem and he has never once complained nor expected special treatment when he pour his efforts to make our bot work.

I am personally looking forward to see him making an impact in Perth during his time there.

Maybe when STEEM is stronger we can fly over to visit him haha.

Setting the jokes aside.

You nailed it when you mentioned about removing whatever we do not need in life (material, emotional, relationships) and dusting off the dirt from all the corners.

I feel that even though 2018 is a really busy year for all of us, it plays a strong significant impact in our lives with a whole new perspective and our journey in our faith.

Let's rock our nation together as the salt and light we were made to be.

Hallelujah! Amen to that @littlenewthings!

Too bad i missed that gathering. Looking at those pictures, wish i was there..

No worries @kokuryo. You have daddy duties so it is understandable. Do join in for our future gatherings
