This Is How I celebrated MY ONE YEAR OF SELF EMPLOYMENT!
I was going to jump on a train to downtown and treat myself to the art museum. The planetarium then maybe I'd stop by my favorite restaurant for take out. It was important to me to celebrate 4,000 followers on Steemit and to be self-employed for a year. Both things I worked incredibly hard for, For over a year!
Last minute, My friend Denton Decided to join in; He made slight adjustments to my plans. (Which was an amazing surprise)
Sadly I didn't take any photos! I was nervous, to be honest, I'm not a very social person. And after talking to my friend for a year, I hadn't even seen him in person. Until this day! I didn't want to have my phone in front of my face the whole time. So I decided to fully enjoy the experience.
I got to try new things!
Spending time with someone new made me realize something important. It's easy to get caught up in the feeling that there isn't much more to life. That you can't experience things "like a kid" anymore. That newness feeling you get when you are clueless. I miss it. And I was able to feel that again. Everyone has different ideas on what is considered fun.
The Planetarium
The planetarium in Utah is a bit small, It's nothing too crazy exciting, to be honest. But it was refreshing to see lots of updates to it! It looks bigger and has more to it! We looked at the stuff, and we bought a ticket to see a show! They had this cool dome theater that was amazing. We watched a show on the upcoming Eclipse! Which got me more excited.
Virtual Reality!
Afterward, my friend took me to the virtual reality store so I could try it for the first time!
I was a little nervous I was afraid people would laugh or stare at me, Those headsets make people look really silly hahaha!! Clearly I was just overthinking things!
We played the bomb game, Which I suck at because when I describe things I tend to be very vague LOL! So you could see how that would end well.
" Yeah There are buttons... "
" What do the buttons look like? "
"They are white! "
" There are symbols on the buttons... "
" WHAT SYMBOLS?"
One of the games I really enjoyed was the job symulator.
I was a chef working in the kitchen, And of course I had to do stuff I shouldn't. Like try and put the tea mug into the blender, Or throw bread directly on the stove to heat it up. I even threw a flower pot onto the stove.
Then there was the art game, As an artist I was amazed by this. It's similar to that plain old paint program on your computer... But everything was 3D!!!
I could walk around my drawings, And use extremely bright paint. It was incredible.
Hibachi
We then went to a Hibachi place, Which was crazy amazing. I had never gone to a place like that before. They cooked all the food in front of us, And did tricks with it!! We got hot sake, Which was surprisingly good. Even though I am a lightweight with alcohol. The food was amazing; It was a lot of fun going new places! We were laughing a good chunk of the time! And I got the seafood meal.
What a great way to celebrate one year of self-employment and 4,000 followers on Steemit.

That sounds like a fantastic day! My friend owns a pair of virtual reality googles... and those things are amazing! Really the future of society. I haven't played the game you played.... I mostly sit through stimulation and just look around. There is this really scary one our friends like to have people sit through... and pretty much everyone screams bloody murder because it is so real! LOL
Hibachi is one of my favorite ways to eat a meal! yummy.

I don't know if you have seen my latest video I posted, but it is of a silent disco set my friend owns. Those are pretty cool. I bet you would get a kick out of those as well :)
Yes!! And we could be nicer to the environment by taking up less space hopefully.

Well, congrats on your first anniversary of self-employment, @kaylinart! And dare we say "another Steemit success story (at least in part). Here's hoping you have many more great years in the world of the self-employed... been here many years, and even though the going sometimes get tough... I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The art I have seen done in VR looks so promising and fun
This is just the early stages too, I can't wait to see the next generation of devices and tools.
WOW! This is incredible! I want to get more into this. I wasn't very good because it was weird to me haha!
Just wait until you see the pornography, they make them tailored for males and females! Honestly it is a weird feeling the VR, takes me back to like little set ups Disney or Universal theme parks would have on the side, or like that big Disney Quest arcade.
Which is funny because now I guess roller coasters aren't enough of an adrenaline rush, now you wear a VR piece when riding some

WOW I would love to ride that! It looks so cool. I feel like I'd start freaking out though LOL. They will be able to do so much cool stuff with this technology.
Haha I had quite a few chances to try out VR but I didn't do it because I thought I'd look silli and everybody would laugh from me :D
I have a pair of googly eyes glued to my Gear VR. While it was worth a dollar and a trip to the craft store, I think all VR devices should just ship like this

I knew we could play with VR but never expected we could find it in a planetarium, it really sounds like something that worth to check it out.

further i want to say that its always good to make a plan by your self and you nalso make a good plan for celebration like you jump on a train for an art museum and than want to go in planetarium and than had a paln to go for ffod in a restaurent, it was so good idea but i pay you my regards that you have a good friend who have a more good plan for you and tht friend make an amendment in your paln and than you both go for enjoy,
being an extroveryt person i always like to share my views and my every routine but here im percieving you an introvert person as you said that you are not so social and you also didnot captured the picture although it was a co incidence other wise im sure you captured the pics always , but i like this spirit that you are a bit shy or a bit low social , every man has its own nature ,
by the way the small planitarium inutah look great i think its a great expereince of yours by that you also enjoyed show on the upcoming Eclipse and yeah that is so good to enjoy that i really love it to know that you had an amazing experience there and make your day more happy by try it . and
its also good to know that you go to a virtual reality store and you experience all the new things there and the games , always remeber one thing never ever give up in your life and secondly never ever got confused in any situation , the more things you tried in your life the more experience you will get so its good to know that you show your courage there and spirit and enjoy that alot
and finally you visit your favorite palce Hibachi place and i hope you enjoyed there alot that it was a best experience to see the food cooked in front of you and got the hot sakes and yeah i know you are so slim hehe by seeing you and you are so smart also so inshort you go the sea food and you know what sea food is also my favourite as well,

A relative stranger has a whole different perspective on life that you've likely never experienced. You end up doing things differently when with a stranger. You would've gotten take out, if by yourself, but Denton forced you into doing the Hibachi thing instead.

I was at Best Buy and Playstation had a VR demo set up. It wasn't a game, but like @karensuestudios said, just looking around. I was under water, and then a shark crossed my vision. I was like "no more!".
