Hacks To Increase Your Patience

Being patient is never easy. Especially for people like me, Who are never patient about anything.
At least patience is a practice that we can build upon.
Like most things in life, It can be something we teach ourselves.

Why are we so impatient?

Everyone is different; We need to figure out why we are impatient.
Do you always feel short on time?
Are you late consistently and it's giving you anxiety?

  • We could always try to delegate responsibilities to others.
Sometimes when I get caught up in my work, I'll pay my little sister to clean my rabbit cages for me. Little things like that, Save me only 20 minutes, But If I maintain focus I can get a lot of extra stuff done.
  • You also want to ensure that you pinpoint situations that trigger loss of patience. Such may include certain phrases, circumstances, people or even events.
Looking for patterns can also help uncover circumstances or relationships that aren’t healthy. It also helps identify root problems and find solutions that eradicate them.

For me it's people who get in my way, I get random bursts of energy that I need to get out. And often I run into other people in the house, Who are blocking the pathway to where I want to go. It immediately makes me angry, Because I can feel the seconds ticking away and They are slow moving, and I need to get through. It's amazing that I am so concerned about my time, But later I'll waste it doing nothing. Seems a bit counterproductive.

Write it down

Many health professionals, particularly therapists, often advice their patients to write down their emotions and thoughts. You can apply this to your impatience, WE need to write it down! To help us understand it better.

The notes should be consistent and written consecutively every time such an episode occurs It will also help you remain calm in a situation like that next time. Consequently, you will find that it becomes easier for you to control your impatience.

Overcome impatience

We will have to change our attitude on life to defeat our impatience.
We can overcome impatience by also learning to relax when we have those fits.

  • Only take a few breaths, clear your mind and concentrate on your breathing until you can get your calm.
Being impatient causes us to endure a lot of unnecessary stress. We only have so much control in our lives. We cannot be hung up over small things out of our control. And you can fix that.

See the bigger picture

Learning how to be patient is tough, and that’s why it’s important always to be able to see the bigger picture.

Sadly it takes time to improve our impatience, So we have to be patient when defeating our impatience. Hehehe.
Also, learn to focus on what matters most because the opposite is what fuels impatience. Last but not least, remind yourself that you will eventually get what you want.
Even when people won't MOVE OUT OF YOUR FREAKING WAY!

haha haha!

We are all far too impatient. We need more people like you in the world.

haha me too, waiting for the 30 mins!

I think, to show proper respect to the content of this article, we should all wait 30 mins before we hand out an upvote. :P

It's so hard sometimes~!

Exactly! Hahh @darknet So true! Waiting for the 20-30 is so hard, I struggle with that too. Sometimes I'll read the article then I'll do something else then I'll comeback and give my upvote.

Great tips man! But i believe that everyone has to find their own way to be patience. Just like I did:
I always bring some kind of small toy like magnetic balls, it's really fun to play with them. And sometimes I don't even want to go somewhere, I just like sit in one place and play with them.

Thank you! Things are definitely different for each person.

Thank you to you for post

No problem!

The Letter of The Ramban (Nachmanides to his son,) also suggests speaking gently, or quietly to people.

I like that! Thats a good one :) Thanks for bringing it up.

"More than welcome," he said in a hushed tone. :)

Thanks for this post @kaylinart, I admit I dont have much patient when it comes to my eldest son due to the things that he'd been doing that I dont like. I also get easily angry if some things wont fall on the way I wanted it to be. I like your advice to write emotions whenever this time occur.

It's good that you are open about it :) I think when you have kids you don't have as much patience with them, I can relate because my mom is like that too hah.

Thanks for aleviating my fear.

Being impatient actually might be one of my triggers that causes me to become impatient. Sometimes I get very irritated at any delay in what I'm trying to do it makes me worse.

Exactly! I get the same way, Sometimes it helps to distract yourself so you can calm yourself down.
