People expect to get things easy these days it seems. They don't see the power in being consistent.
Sometimes success is a long-term process. Being consistent will get you closer than being inconsistent.
Being Consistent on Steemit Is VERY IMPORTANT.
I've been on here for almost a year, And I write regularly. I've gone through times where I had to slow down my posts to tend to my businesses. But I try to post as much as I can!
Imagine..
If I wrote 300 posts in one day!
What would that make me?
A pretty horrible spammer! That's for damn sure.
People may remember me. But quickly people would forget all about me, And all that effort I put into those 300 posts, GONE.
But Imagine if I posted 300 in one year. But I posted the posts at a rate of 1 per day. Each day you may see my post...
Here's what would happen as a result...
It's measurable
Success doesn't happen overnight. If I were to post one time per day, everyday for a year. This would be a CONSISTENT rate of posting. I would be able to see overtime If posting on Steemit is really "worthwhile." If I have a specific goal in mind, I could track it. As I progress through the year.
What if I did the 300 posts in one day?
I couldn't measure the success or failure. Because it could have been a "bad day" or a "good day" on the platform.
I will have absolutely no idea if it's a good method for my business/personal goals.
Which leads me to...
Establishing your Reputation with Consistency
Posting 300 in one day, Wouldn't build a long term reputation. Instead, people would probably think "What the hell." and move on with their lives. But one post a day for a year would show my investment in the platform; I could slowly build a relationship with others on the platform.
That is why author Steve Scott pushes you to write lots of books related to the same niche, Make a blog, And other content. Because not only do you build a reputation, But you build authority.
Who are you more likely to follow, When Looking for a fishing blog?
Someone who posts everyday, Or someone who stopped posting years ago?
This is another reason that spreading yourself too thin isn't a good idea either, Whether it's in business or your personal life.
In your personal life, you could have 200 Acquaintances. Or 5 friends that you keep consistent contact with. What would you rather have? Because you kept consistent contact with those five friends, They are more likely to have your back, then those 200 acquaintances.
People Like Predictability
Another strength of consistency is the deep desire people have, to have things in order. Randomness often makes us feel uncomfortable. Predictability and consistency are similar. If a child misbehaves, And they know they'll get a time out. This consistent punishment for bad behavior is a great way to remind them to behave. If you were inconsistent with the punishments. The child may take the risk and misbehave anyways Because they know they have a chance of receiving no penalty.
This can also be applied in a business setting, Many popular Youtubers layout their uploading schedule It's consistent and predictable.
Conclusion
You should try and be consistent in everything that you do.
This builds your reputation, Your authority. And overall will allow you to be more successful in the areas you are in.
We, unfortunately, cannot chase every opportunity in this world. So Its better if we chose what is most important and give 100% percent effort. And focus on being consistent, So we can easily track our progress.
Thank you @elyaque for the awesome Badges!
Agreed! Consistency is super important... one of my "niche blogs" actually started in 2002, and even though I have had periods where I barely could find the inspiration to post anything at ALL, I still willed myself to keep up... 15 years later, the consistency resulted in a large following and a Facebook page with 16K likes. So yeah, it pays off...
Wow really? That is so impressive!
Steemit really motivates me to blog, But sadly when I tried to blog on my website, I had difficulty being consistent So I really admire that you were able to do pull it off.
Good advice; consistency has been one of my weak points. I will start to build momentum on one social platform, then lose it when I stop wanting to post my work. Steemit has a lot of great inspiration; literally using creativity as a currency. I think I can get into a schedule on here.
I love that! Steemit is a great place to be for that. I feel like it's helped me tremendously.
Talent is overrated. Genius is cool, but unsuccessful genius is everywhere. Persistence and consistency, though, is omnipotent. That's in work, in love, in everything that matters.
Great post.
Wow I agree completely. It's sad, So many people don't try because they don't have "talent' when thats not the key to success most times.
You have a point. As Japaneses says: "Discipline, sooner or later, beats intelligence"
Consistency is my biggest struggle. I'll go through phases where I'll post almost every day. Sometimes twice a day...
Then I drop off the platform for weeks (or in one case, months.)
Good post!
I'm the same way with other things in my life. It can be really hard to keep going at times :)
Consistency is important but so is putting out good material. Is it worth ever sacrificing one for the sake of the other?
I agree completely! Quality is better than quantity.
Thanks for sharing this post! A great reminder not only for posting here but also in our lives.
Thank you heheh :) Yes it can be applied to both.
Your posts is a great reminder of what works!
Thank you :)
Thats the key. Perseverance. Keep going. Good job girl.
Consistency is root of all successful accomplishment.
Thanks for sharing ...

Consistent also part of success,
So true. Great post
I am in awe of your consistent, high quality output. You must work 18 out of 24 hours per day, yet everything is topical, interesting and, different. Thank you for the main point of interest I have taken from this post - consistent with time of publishing your post. I am so glad I found you, as a 'newbie', I am learning so much from you and ' @pinkielady '. X
As a newbie I just want to say a big thanks for this post.
Good information. I must follow you and learn along the way!
Exactly the kind of thing I needed to read right now.
