The sound of crickets, toads, and birds chirping is the best music we can hear. Dragonflies flutter, and fireflies flickering at night is a sight that will make us smile with our eyes. But in the city, the two things are more often become scarce goods. Both of these sights are much easier to find in village life.
The village does not offer a complete life like in urban areas. Limited employment, uneven electricity distribution, HP signal is on fire. But the simple village life can actually make us so miserable. Whether you are big in the village or have lived there for a while as an adult - because of KKN for example - village life is so rich, behind all its limitations:
Getting up early in the village is an immeasurable grace. That will greet you is not a sight of motor or dust, but the clean air and the smell of the trees are wet by dew.
In the village, fresh oxygen in the morning is always available. No need to install water purifier or air purifier in our house. From the window, fresh air mixed with the smell of trees and moist soil will burst and tickle the fine hairs in the nasal cavity, before finally fulfill the lung cavity, replacing carbon dioxide, then circulate and flow with blood flow. Fresh oxygen is available abundantly without any pollution intervention from vehicle fumes. Every day, naturally.
Life is endless to think where to eat. No need to worry about borax or pesticides. Just eat the freshness that the earth serves, every day.
They are very rare, or even never eat food that goes through the process of preservation and canning. In fact, villagers often buy fresh vegetables directly from farmers.
If you want to eat chicken, they just catch and cut the chicken in the cage. Chickens are much healthier than broiler chickens because they contain low fat. If you want to eat fish, they live fishing in ponds and rivers. No need to worry about formalin danger!
In the village, your family is not just your sister, brother, and father-mother. There are neighbors near and far who are ready to help and nurture you.
Working together, working together, helping each other is common to rural people. There is almost no distance separating one person from another. This closeness is what makes villagers become like their own family.
In the village, we often find that those whose homes are close are really blood relatives. If we who live in the city usually meet cousins only once a year during the holidays, those who live in the village can meet once a week or even every day. The awkwardness that usually exists among distant relatives during a crash reunion or holiday? The villagers did not feel it.
In town, children attend school from morning till late afternoon. In the village, the school lasts 24 hours - because actual education does not only take place in the classroom.
Often we see children in the city busy with seabrek activities. Starting from school, foreign language lessons, music course, until the swimming exercise is done. Nothing wrong indeed, because parents want their children can have achievements in various fields. Many children will learn at school from morning until noon, then continued with extra activities until late afternoon.
But in the village, a child's education lasts 24 hours. Starting from dawn the day you have to clean the house. If you have a cage, you must make sure that your cage is healthy for your livestock. Shower for a while, then go to school. If you come home during the day, you must help mothers who may be busy in the fields or markets. During the afternoon of reciting in surau to maghrib. This, for the village community, is "school". Education should not stop in the classroom and on the papers, but it must also make the child understand about life itself.
In town, we pay dearly for a place to stay and a quiet activity room. In the village, peaceful souls and minds are so easy to find.
Unlike us who live in the city, we often dizzy with the noise of motor vehicles, trains, and the hustle and bustle of people passing by.
Although the noise is often heard, it-even not to interfere with community activities. The most often heard may be the rooster's rooster's voice in the morning which is a natural alarm that is assigned to them to hurry up and do the work. Because of this calmness that makes the villagers rarely suffer from stress and serious illness.
Electricity and unwarranted signals are not a reason to complain. Precisely because of this, they do not always have to be poisoned by what the television offers.
The lack of electricity that touches the countryside does not always have a bad effect. Even the unavailability of electricity and internet make the village people do not understand about pasnas news that is happening. This makes them not too concerned with the circumstances outside there. They do not care about gossip, understand criminal news, and no matter the cheap debate that television often airs.
The slow-moving time rhythm will make us enjoy the life God has given us
We are accustomed to race against time, caressing the rhythm of fast city life. Start waking up we are busy to get ready and rush to catch the transport to go to the office. After work we must be packed again in public transportation, not to mention the seemingly never-subsided congestion. Our time seems to be sucked out to pursue worldly problems.
In contrast to the city, the rhythm of life in the village is slow, the tranquility envelopes every corner of the village. In this way we will be more able to interpret the meaning of life, that life is not merely to pursue worldly wealth. Moreover, we must also be aware that our souls and hearts also need tranquility.
The city does offer a lot of conveniences and materials. However, to get that many luxuries that we have to "kick" out.
Go to work in the office in the morning, home in the afternoon, not infrequently even who must overtime to get additional money. Not to mention the many temptations of entertainment venues: cinema, karaoke, nightclubs, branded merchandise, and a cup of coffee make us feel less and less.
Clothing must be A brand, shoes should be made of crocodile skin, mobile phones must be the most sophisticated, want to buy a car must be worth billions. Bak billboard that runs we are willing to buy all that. What for? Nothing else and not just to show people who we really are.
Simplicity will make us be more grateful human beings, more familiar with nature and God.
Bathing and washing in the river, having lunch in a rice-field shack, and passing the night with only a torch or oil lamp make them more appreciative and grateful for the life and simplicity that has been given to them.
Although not having such abundant facilities in the city, rural communities actually very highly uphold the simplicity. They do not need expensive cars or branded clothes. The most important thing to be able to farm and provide for daily needs is profitable. No need to demand much, yet all the treasures in the end will not be brought to the grave. What is certain is our good deeds that will accompany and help us in the afterlife later.
Perhaps the above is just a small example of village life that is still not fully addressed by modernization. Hipwee also does not want to say that all urban people care about matter, and not all villagers are happy about simplicity. Especially those young people who are hungry for adventure and experience, prefer to migrate from the village and try to make a profit in the city. In the end, all returned from personal and opinion respectively
