CHAPTER II PT. PEGADAIAN (PERSERO) KANWIL 1 MEDAN
A. Brief History PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil 1 Medan
PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Kanwil 1 Medan is one of the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) engaged in lending services to the community on the basis of legal pawn. Medan 1 Regional Office is located on Jl. Pawnshop No. 112, Medan.
In 1746, the company was a Dutch company founded by Bank van Leening. Then the British Government took over and dissolved Bank van Leening to the community given the discretion of establishing a Pawnshop business. Until finally in 1901, the Government of the Netherlands East Indies issued a regulation for the pawnshop itself handled by the government, which made April 1 as the anniversary of the Pawnshop. Then in 1905, the Pawnshop officially transformed into an official "JAWATAN" institution. Then changed the legal entity several times from "JAWATAN" to "PN" in 1961, "PN" to "PERJAN" in 1969, "PERJAN" to "PERUM" in 1990, until the end of April 1, 2012, Changed from "PERUM" to "PERSERO" until now.

The three tangent symbols represent three main services: Pawn Financing and Micro, Gold and Various Services. The symbol of the scale represents justice and honesty. The more varied green color is the shade, always growing to protect and help the community. Upper and lower case letters give lighter impression, according to their meaning, that is; Humble, sincere and friendly in serving. With its motto "Troubleshooting No Problem" that has been popular in the community still maintained.
B. Organizational Structure
Organizational Structure is needed to distinguish the boundaries of authority and responsibility in a systematic manner that shows the relationship / linkage between each section to achieve the goals set.
For the sake of the achievement of the general objectives of an agency required a container to organize all activities and activities of these institutions. This arrangement is connected with the achievement of institutions that have been set before. The container is arranged in an organizational structure in the agency.
