"The girl next door has just two friends, she doesnt talk to anyone around. She's so proud, we've been neighbours for a year and i don't even know her name"
Have you ever heard rumors about yourself and you're just like; "seriously?". Sure. Everyone has.
Sometimes we're even the ones who say things about people. Things we're not even sure of.
I know of people who past betrayals and experiences have made them so guarded that if you don't look closely, you can mistake their countenance for Pride.
Because they're your neighbour or colleague doesn't mean you know them. And do you know? when we talk about others to people, we not only tell our listeners something bad about the person we're talking about. We also indirectly tell them our own flaws. Like if you brag about how your partner worships you to your friend, you're inadvertently telling your friend how insecure you are. Or you gossip about one of your friend to another friend you're telling them they can't trust you not to gossip about them also.
Now about my first quote, we have neighbours like that and sometimes we are that neighbour..if that neighbour or new kid in class doesn't come/talk to you first you shouldn't conclude they are proud. They're probably guarded or even shy. Why don't you try talking to them, why don't you try to get to know them. You shouldn't judge anyone upfront. Let's try to get to know these kind of people. Some of them are recovering from massive heartbreaks, betrayals, and some are even wallowing in self-doubt and want to talk to you but just can't.
