RE: Born of the Desert: Cattle, Cotton and Black Gold

Excellent and informative post. It must have been terrific playing in those sand dunes as a kid! Gee, to move around for a nickel more (even though a nickel was worth more in relative terms then) must have been difficult for your parents and you kids. What an impact the oil industry has had on people from that part of the world for nearly a century now.

On kids and old stuff: we used to enjoy picking up the shale they used for road construction nearby our house and checking it for fossils. We used to imagine there were Indian artifacts in the woods not far from us. There weren't, but it was fun to imagine there were. 😜

One never knows about the treasures they will find. Treasures are of course relative to each individual ! We find them all of the time! 🐓🐓

And kids, small and big, can find treasures in the most banal of places if they just open their eyes to see them. Like, say, some of the nuggets you post on Steemit 😊😊
