Finding Happiness #7 😊 (HOW TO STOP CONSTANT WORRYING AND ANXIETY)

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Sometimes you have to stop worrying, wondering & doubting. Having faith that things will work out is always the best way to go about life. Maybe not how you planned, but just how it’s mean to be. Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.

There is only one way to happiness, and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will. You will find out that one of the happiest moments ever is when you find the courage to let go of what you can’t change.

There are some people who just seem to float through life without an ounce of worry. Always having a positive mind set, always happy and always smiling, nothing seems to ever weigh them down.

Up until last year, I was the exact opposite of such a person. I was always worried, of the “What if” and “what not’s”. I was engrossed with fear, riddled with anxiety and negative thoughts. I wouldn’t do anything that had the slightest chance of taking me out of my comfort zone. While my friends where living their lives to the fullest, I was only struggling to exist.

I was pretty comfortable with this, I thought I was safe, I thought I was secure, but really I was the most insecure person you would have met at that time.

I ultimately made the decision to turn my life around and I realized that constant worrying about everything wouldn’t take me anywhere. It was a total waste of time. Before you know it, life has breezed past you and all you can say is “At least I’m not dead yet.” Now where is the fun in that?

I know it’s never an easy task to stop worrying but if you want to take your life in your hands and do all those things you’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t due to fear and anxiety, here are few ways that would help you stop worrying.

Practice Mindfulness

The realization that you have control and influence over your own life is a key concept you will need to understand to practice mindfulness. Mindfulness practice means that we commit fully in each moment to be present; inviting ourselves to interface with this moment in full awareness. The practice of mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).

Every one of us already has the seed of mindfulness. The practice is to cultivate it.

Remember That Most of What You Worried About Didn’t Actually Happen

I’ve had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened. There is no point in consistently worrying about everything. What will happen will happen regardless. So breathe, look on the bright side, have some laughs, fall in love, accept what you can’t change, and carry on. To actually live is courageous. Most people exist, that is all.

Pray when you feel like worrying. Give thanks when you feel like complaining. Keep going when you feel quitting. Worrying won’t stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the food.

Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure out everything all at once. Breathe. You’re strong. You got this. Take it day by day.

Spend Less Time Hanging Around People Who Make You Anxious

As much as people refuse to believe it, the company you keep does have an impact and influence on your choices. Once you learn how to be happy, you won’t tolerate being around people who make you feel anything less.

People often say at times that “Anxiety isn’t that bad”. Yes it is. Anxiety makes you sit there and overthink every single thing. At times it makes you think people in your life are leaving you. You begin to feel abandoned, and not worth anything because the most important person/people in your life don’t want you. So you push away for fear of being hurt. You push them away so they can’t discard you or leave you. When in reality, nobody was ever leaving. Anxiety this bad makes you leave the ones you love. This really sucks.

Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody!

Cut Yourself Some Slack

Have patience with all things. But, first of all with yourself. Cut yourself some slack. You’re doing better than you think. Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. The harder you are on yourself the weaker you become. Being hard isn’t the same as being persistent or determined. Being too hard on yourself is the same as being cruel. You do not, never have, and never will deserve cruelty. Don’t wait until you achieve your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take towards reaching that goal. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.

Accept Some Uncertainty

If you’re feeling frightened about what comes next, don’t be. Embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you places. Be brave as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path toward happiness; don’t waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each moment, as it comes, because you’ll never get another one quite like it. And if you should ever look up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to the purest place in your heart…..where your hope lives. You’ll find your war again.
In moments of uncertainty when you must choose between two paths, allowing yourself to be overcome by either the fear of failure or the dimly lit light of possibility. Immerse yourself in the life you would be most proud to live.
