RE: Here's That Damn Post You Wanted!

in #life3 years ago

yeah for sure i am going at my own pace, and i don't want to rush posts here or anything. but i don't intend to be developing this website i'm doing forever, and it sucks a lot of time out of my schedule! (and responding to comments is something i want to get to more quickly, even if i don't want to just rush posts)

you've mentioned people who come here and then bail quick, so you know, i don't want you to think you might have wasted time helping me get acquainted with the place. and ofc if for some reason i actually did intend to stop coming, if you can't tell this from things i've said already, i wouldn't do that without telling you specifically because you've spent so much time talking with me!

but honestly how could i leave, if only because it's been tons of fun having ~COMMENT BATTLEZ~ with you, even if i didn't like anything else, talking with you makes it worth it - ofc you seem to be kinda a big deal, so whenever you move on to another newbie if you haven't already, i'll try not to become TOO depressed about it ahaha

Sort:

This responding to comment thing. Don't get me wrong, I love talking to people, especially when they're coming to my posts; but holy crap! There have been days this is all I've done. Still. I really enjoy it. These are the folks coming to my shop. What kind of shop owner ignores their customers? But I imagine if this place grows, I won't be able to get to everyone, all the time.

And those who bailed when I tried to help; I don't hold a grudge. This is life, right? People come and go. I've known what feels like thousands now. Some aren't here because they bailed. Maybe they don't have time. Other priorities. I'm still left with good memories. And if I see another interesting noob show up, that doesn't mean I turn my back on you. Look at all these people here. People fascinate me. I'm smiling or a least smirking. Having fun. You've been a blast to be around.

yeah no i know exactly what you mean, for me especially on the other blockchain where posts are quick twitter-like blasts, i can either be making posts for hours (where i mean time is spent in photoshop/etc in between actual posts), or i might get caught up in long comment threads for hours.

here you've been by far the most engaging, though i also send you a lot of questions and our comments tend to actually further along a conversation. i think i've replied to ALMOST every comment i've gotten here, but my responses to a lot of comments don't exactly lend themselves to further conversation since i might just be responding to someone with a "thanks" (though i usually include a bit more than that, if not always).

at the other blockchain, i can just like every comment without it "costing" anything (i can also do a kind of tip too which i usually do the base one which comes out to being approx $0.01), so if i don't further the comment thread i at least can give an easy indication of having read it.

and i wouldn't think you'd hold a grudge, but i personally would feel bad doing that, though i'm also just the kind of person where i literally can't imagine it happening unless i have some actual emergency in my life!

i'm still kinda trying to figure out how to really find other posts that i want to leave comments on. so far the only one that i really left a long comment on was a post about some kind of TRUMP coin LOL

I never got in to Twitter or shortform platforms. Even when I used Facebook I felt like the only one who could say more than one sentence. Also felt awkward writing my long ass status messages...

I put all that behind me. Bought a new laptop thinking there's no fucking way I'm putting Facebook on here. Having a device without it feels like being released from prison. Though I don't really know what that feels like except for that one time I got a bit drunk and yeah... spent the night. lol

You can always slide your vote value down to 1% and use that as a 'like' for comments. I think I mentioned that but I forget. 1% votes won't drain your power much. It'll be recharged in no time.

TRUMP coin? Another shitcoin I assume...

It can be difficult to find stuff to engage with. Some people create in a way where not much can even be said. It's just, there. But if you got to that Case for $100 Hive post on trending you'll see me and plenty of others talking. When there's a lot of comments, that usually a good indication you might have something to add. But at the same time, you don't know unless you click. Some awesome posts are quiet. That ties in a bit with what I was talking about before; lack of consumers.
