To rule over another - one of the strongest human passions

Even before the New Age, people chose a chieftain to lead and keep them. If you think about it, we would hardly reach such a high point of evolution, if there was no one to make decisions for us and use us to achieve their goals. But can each of us take the place of the driver, and is it really so sweet power?

Although religion teaches that all people are equal, some of us are considered superior to others or as Nietzsche would say, supermen. Therefore, kings and emperors of the past have been thought of as God-elect, and in turn, they have become God's substitute for the Earth. And nowadays, where they are governed where democratically elected, where they are, they care for anything but their tribe. But is there any real difference with the situation before?

What are we - human beings? Perhaps we are born selfish, seeking only the way to the top, and perhaps the world has made us! But I'm sure that if we put a test on mankind, a great deal of him would agree to have power. And why? Why is this power, why do we so long for her, and why, when we touch her, we become addicted and she makes us other people?

On the one hand based on our need for power are our complexes or our growth with the thought that you have to prove that we are the best or at least better than others. Even our parents are thirsty that we have to learn so that we do not end up on the street like the "lower strata". This shows how from children we are programmed to aspire to higher society, to the top of the pyramid, to the group of leaders, to the chiefs.

We can also justify our ingratitude. We never appreciate what we have and instead concentrate on what we do not have and therefore we do not stop asking and want more. We think the power will improve our lives, will open for us the doors would put the whole world at our feet, so we can take everything we need.

But here's the enchanted circle - we think we lack something to be complete - here they are in the mirror of our complexes. We think we have to have more than others at all costs - it has polished our wrong ego. We think that what we have is nothing - we also recognized our ingratitude!

You're absolutely right. Most people get so caught up in chasing the next thing they think will 'fix' their current dilemma that they fail to stop and look around them to appreciate what they DO have.

Life's short. Stop and look around every now and then to take in what really makes life worth living.
