Titles of the blog posts are very important if you want to attract the reader`s attention. They should arouse an interest of a visitor and make him click on the post title link to read the whole story. There are some ingredients of appealing blog post title which are as follows:
To the point
Blog post title should have to be straight to the point. Actually the title of the post is primarily depend on the content of the post. The title reflects the information what the post is actually about. The following shown concepts are for those types of articles which are very straight to the point.
If you are telling something how to do something then the post title should start with "how to .....".
If your post is explaining some technical words which are difficult for the general people to understand then it should have to be like "what is .......".
If your post is talking about something best or top. Then it should be like "top ... ways of ..." or "best .....".
Title should have limited characters
A blog post title should have limited characters. Never use the words which are unwanted and which are giving nil information about the post.
The rule of thumb in blogging is that the blog post title should have only 66 characters and it also includes spaces also. Reason being in search results screen only 66 characters of title will be shown. If your title crosses that limit then the more exceeded characters will be shown as "....." dot dot...
So post title should have limited characters.
Keywords Power
Frankly speaking (writing) I don't know much about keyword and SEO stuff. But I know that how to make post title keyword friendly.
The one and only best tip for this will be including the one word in the post title on which the whole post is all about. To explain this lets take an example of a random post related to Twitter. If your post about all the Twitter privacy settings then you should include the keyword "Twitter privacy".
But if the post is about specific privacy setting like hiding friends from the public then the keywords like "hide friends", Twitter friend privacy settings" or something like these will be great for compelling the readers to click on the read more link.
All the above tips will be helpful if the and only if the content is good. What are your opinions?
