” It takes more than just belief to build a successful network marketing business.”
Network marketing is all about belief, but is belief alone sufficient to carry one to success?
Apparently not especially in the 21st century!
Many network marketing leaders and their training methods put tremendous emphasis on the importance of belief. They teach that you must know the ‘why’ instead of the ‘how’ in network marketing.
There’s a great deal of truth to this teaching because, as any student of Napoleon Hill or Wallace Wattles will tell you, it’s essential to adopt the mindset of success in order to achieve lasting success.
However, many would be network marketers fall into the trap of focusing exclusively on getting clear about their ‘why’ and on building their belief, but with an absence of any supporting activity. They literally expect to will success to come to them without having to do the work.
You can have all of the ‘whys’ in the world nailed down, but if you fail to follow a solid action blueprint for building your business — and to tweak and learn from your mistakes — then you are setting yourself up for a lot of unneccessary frustration.
Belief is just one ingredient. Just as important as belief is consistent action. Belief without follow-through and action is kind of like hoping that you can score a lot of A’s in your exam or get a high SAT score without doing any studying or preparation. There can be a fine line between belief and wishful thinking and relying upon the latter is not a savvy business decision.
You have to be practical
If you want to help your downline to sustain their belief and achieve results, you must master the ‘what’ and then allow them to duplicate your success.
Here are some practical steps you must take to help your network marketing business
- Develop a systematic plan for your recruiting strategy. Believing that you can sponsor many new reps is the start of everything but you must not stop there. Write down a plan on how many leads you want to generate for your list every single day.
- Learn to outsource aspects of your list building or MLM recruiting strategy. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN actually outsource your network marketing sponsoring methods to search engine optimization teams, pay per click specialists, copywriters, graphic designers and even build lucrative joint venture marketing with other list owners and co-registration leads programs. Who says you can’t get others to help build your downline for you?
Enhance your downlines’ belief by sharing practical, step-by-step recruiting strategies you can teach them. Train your teams through your own MLM blog, forums, Facebook groups and the multitude of methods you can use online.
You can also run your own training calls and events, or begin teaching your downlines how to build their list and recruiting strategies through your own seminars. There are many “high tech” recruiting and training methods, but nothing is as powerful for building strong, deep organizations as real, tangible personal contact with your team on a regular basis. That is what separates many of the greatest network marketers from the masses — they understand that network marketing is still fundamentally about building relationships.
At the end of the day, simply believing that you can succeed in and of itself is not enough.
However, if you combine that belief with an action plan and then execute the plan through consistent action and you will begin to build a very successful network marketing business in no time.
Thanks for the nice post! Love your wording in the last paragraph and I think that can apply to other businesses too, as well as network marketing! .... I have to work on the executing of my plan :)) Lots going on, but I'll get there!
