RE: Ahh Diapers (Cloth or disposable)

in #life7 years ago

My take: disposable diapers! Used disposable for both of my children. Although I like the idea of reducing the landfills of diapers, I just couldn’t bring myself to wash that many poopy diapers in my washer. And like I needed more laundry to do! A close friend did the cloth diapers and unfortunately they do have a lifespan. After a while they had to replace them. So I’m not sure of the financial savings. Cloth might be the way to go if you use a diaper service where they take away your dirty diapers and bring you fresh ones. And this may be totally minor, but cloth diapers are so bulky! Seemed a little tougher to move in. Last thought: if you are going to test out both, I recommend getting more than just six cloth diapers to start out. Newborns poop in almost every diaper and you change their diapers like every two hours. So you do the math ;)

Congratulations! Being a parent is seriously the most tiring, rewarding, stressful, beautiful, hard and fun thing in the world :)

That is the main reason. I almost need to grab a crappy washer just for the diapers.
