Sunday thoughts on Saturday: Sermon series: Outlier; why not?

in #life6 years ago

Last week, we started a sermon series called Why now? God bless!

Why not me?

why now, why me, why not?

2 Corinthians 12:9, power made perfect in weaknesses. God has a plan for your life. God wants to use you to make a difference in this world. There is a particular mission that he has for you. If you think you can’t because of your weakness then what if I told you he put those weaknesses in you? Those weaknesses, the way you were created, you are who you are because God needs you to be you in order to serve his purpose. To complete the mission. To fulfill your purpose.

Jesus didn’t die on the cross for you to be normal.

Salvation was so you could be the odd one, you could be the different one, so you could be the change this world needs.

If this is true, let me be weird. Let be weak. The next time you think your too weak to do something; go forward and do it. When you think your strong in an area that you are actually weak in, faking it until you make it, distracts you from what you should be doing. Along the same line, every strength comes with its set of weaknesses.

We won’t look at our problems as weaknesses, but as opportunities.

Why not acknowledge your weaknesses?

Admit that it’s a weakness, then accept that you need help, and don’t try to cover it up. It’s okay to imperfect.

  • Don’t take it off God's hands and put it in your own.
  • God doesn’t want you to work towards perfect
  • Trust God, give it all up and follow him.

Many can work their entire lives and follow the law. Then God wants to take the work from us, but we can’t let it go. Like the rich ruler, we can’t sell our belongings and follow him. To fully trust God to provide, to lead, to fully serve.

Don’t waste time ignoring your weakness, but instead acknowledge it. Acknowledge God grace that is made perfect in your weaknesses. Grace and mercy... Grace is receiving that which you don’t deserve. mercy is receiving that in which you didn’t have.

Only humble people can receive the grace and mercy of God.

Why not boast in your weaknesses?

Becca this is where the power of God is.

God can’t wait to use that in which you think you can’t. That’s when you depend on him. That’s when you trust him. That’s when you allow him to move through you.

Like Job, that sums up his entire experience that he knows nothing. Good, let God teach you. God honors that. Acknowledging what you don’t know or what you can’t empower you to trust the Lord more to provide. You may not know how to, but you know God does. You may not know where, but you know God knows the way.

Why not offer your weaknesses?

why not offer it to God?

If you are willing to stay if you are willing to wait, and if you are simply willing then what would happen? I know you think you can’t, I know you don’t think you have the strength, and I know you don’t think you have the skills.

I don’t need your ability. I need your availability.

Be encouraged not to give up, God got this for you. Don’t quit on God, first because he didn’t
t quit on you when he went to that cross. Jesus was willing to take it because you needed him. Don’t quit because he did it for you.

God uses crazy people, frail people, and weak people. God can use your weaknesses too.

God bless!

Love always,

I love being the odd one, and my walk with God has yet to let me down

Counting down those days to d-day Kubs, or should I say B-day

lol, Amen brother. Our oddness or weridness is what sets us apart. The count down continues!

Even though I am weak, I am made strong through Christ the redeemer. Best way to deal with doubts is to leave it all for God.

Thanks for sharing

You think the best way to deal with doubts is to leave to God? If one is with God, why would they have doubts? Does one doubt because they have unanswered question or lack fellowship? That is usually the case with me.
