Followed and upvoted. I spent some time studying Feng Shui and the logic that visual clutter is distracting seems to be the basis of how it works, when it works. You might have actually started something ticking over in my mind about something I can do right now that might help improve my mood and productivity. I don't have a very well equipped bedroom, no decent bed, or bed linen, my desk is a couch and coffee table, and everything is dirty and dilapidated. I have mostly concealed the worst of the mess that accumulates, and I don't also have access to cleaning facilities so my clothes are getting a bit manky now.
But I think reading this could trigger some motivation to try and optimise my situation a little more routinely, like you say, 5 minutes a day. In fact, I'm gonna turn out my trash right now.
The same thing applies to your IT gear as well. It was a big boost to my mood and productivity when I finally finished reconfiguring my equipment to help me keep my valuable data secured. I got my laptop back out of hock, and after several hours tearing my hair out trying to get its VGA output to put native resolution to the monitor, I had to adjust my plan and instead use my Fitlet mini PC as my main workstation, and dedicate the laptop to server duty. I have been running the configuration this way for a few days now, I need to double check that my home folder replication scripts are working correctly, actually, I should fire up the GUI on the laptop and see if it is the exact mirror of my desktop workstation that I think it should be.
Yes, it is working perfectly :) So now if I need to take a computer with me when I go out, it's got exactly the same build and configuration as my main desktop, and if one or the other has a data loss situation, there is still a valid copy available. YAY.
and thanks again for writing this post, btw.
I'm glad this article has motivated you, I'm sure it will affect your daily routine positively, because it did for me.
I recently incorporated this habit into my daily routine and it really brought out some positive results. This motivated me me to share this with the Steemit community , and I'm more than happy to know that this has helped you! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and your upvote , I greatly appreciate it :)
Also, I'm glad to hear that your issue got resolved
Oh hey, maybe you could add #steemtherapy to your hashtags on this post also, I just made a post with this and I had a positive response to the idea that it is a category that could become very important. The subject matter of a post need not necessarily be about how steem helps you live your life, but just the fact that it is a lifehack or other thing that helps you live your life better, and it is on steem, so, therefore, it is #steemtherapy :) What do you think?
I like the concept! Will do it soon.
