Is it possible to not exist?

in #life8 years ago (edited)

What do I know?
I am, therefore I exist.
Have I ever not known existence?
Everything I know, I know because of the experience of existence.
Then how could I know non-existence?
Was there ever a time I did not exist?
How would I know?

The thought that I could not exist, is solely based on what someone else has told me. Hearsay. That was based on what someone else told them. Hearsay.

I haven't experienced non-existence. So, how would I know?

Deductively it is impossible to not exist, because everything I know about existence, I know because I exist.
Existence cannot be non-existence.

Is death a concept based on perception?
Objective observation shows that death is part of a cycle that restarts with life.
An example of this would be going to sleep and waking back up again.

I have experienced others going through death, but how do I know they don't exist?
Is it any different from me not interacting with someone in my experience anymore and not seeing them again?
Do they not exist anymore either? How would I know?
If I claimed to know, that would be based on my perception. Perception can be obscured.

There is the ability to forget.
To forget that I existed. Another time maybe. Another perception.

This could be likened unto a dream.
In my dream, I know I was there. I know I was doing something, but I cant remember what it was.
Have I been in this dream for so long that I have forgotten where I was before?
