Way back in the dim darks, before the P C wave hit, as kids we were served a meal, we had the choice, eat it now, or wait until breakfast and have it then, or if you were still holding out, guess what was for lunch.
That included such fine delicacies as tripe, liver, heart, the only one I got away with was artichoke [the in the ground type] and you don't want to hear how I got away with that one.
Yeek. Even the thought of liver and tripe gives me the major heebies!!!
I suspect their was done kind of vomiting to get out of the artichoke!
yes, after the third time eating everything else on the plate, then being ordered to eat it and having it bounce and come up at the end of a meal, all over the table of course. I was allowed to say no to that.
Liver is a bit dry, needs lots of gravy. I haven't had tripe since I was 16 and left home. heart is quite nice muscelly meat.
ps you were my 5,000 post, are congratulations in order? if so well done.
