Music that inspires me while taking and editing images (Music recommendations)

in #life7 years ago

For the first post of today I wanted to share something different with you guys. But don’t worry, later today I will post the 3rd entry in my escapism series. But for now I would like to share some of the music I listen to on a day to day basis. It may sound weird to share my divers music taste with you guys, but as I am a photographer that listens to music constantly during a shoot and post production it would be an understatement to say that music plays an important part in my “photography routine”. The music listed below only includes artist I listen to on a daily basis, in no particular order.

Zeal and Ardor

I got introduced to Zeal and Ardor quite recently by my good friend, @gaelle.spaas. And well, I can tell you they’ve been living in my playlist ever since. Zeal and Ardor can best be described as blues, Gospel and soul meets harsher music (mainly black metal). Their music not only makes you feel, it also inspires by holding the perfect balance between touching vocals and spectacular instrumentals. The songs listed below are my favorites as of Jun 21 2018.

Zeal & Ardor - Gravedigger's Chant
Zeal & Ardor - Come on down
Zeal & Ardor - Devil is fine
Zeal & Ardor - Children's summon
Zeal & Ardor - Waste

God is an astronaut

God is an astronaut is an Irish post-rock band formed back in 2002. Their music is primarily instrumental focused, combined with epic melodies of post rock, electronic-fueled Krautrock and elements of space rock. Combine all of that, supported by an amazing light show and you’ve got yourself an experience you will never forget! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them perform live with @gaelle.spaas on their Epitaph tour (accompanied by Xenon field) in Antwerp, Belgium earlier this year. And let me tell you, saying it was an atmospheric experience would be an understatement.

God is an astronaut - Epitaph
God is an astronaut - Forever lost
God is an astronaut - No return
God is an astronaut - Echoes
God is an astronaut - Loss
