How gross is this? This was in my mail today. It's basically the extortion renewal for my LLC that they send every year. It costs $300 a year to get permission from the crown to legally turn a profit so I can pay them more extortion money. The government basically does nothing for this money but maintain a database with my name in it so they know who to go after if they don't get enough of "their" cut. If you happen to be a little late making this payment though... :O wham $207 penalty in one month. Why? Because reasons. That's why.
Now remember Delaware is supposed to be one of the most friendly states to start a business in. It's not that much money in the grand scheme of things but every year this just sickens me that they think this is somehow helping the people of Delaware. Thieves. It's all these small things like this that add up that deter average people without much money from becoming job creators and taking the plunge on something that may or may not work. I just find the idea of this infuriating.
