I find it really amusing that so many governmental organizations use the Azimuthal Equidistant projection in their logos. They might say "you can't handle the truth" but then they go and put it on display. :)

Yes, and -- notice they put "bounty, or harvest" at the edges, where Antarctica is!
Why would almost every nation in the world sign on to the Antarctica Treaty -- preventing people from exploring there? Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd probably could answer that.
