With the fast-paced lifestyle we currently carry our body and mind, they need a break, known as detox.
Why carry out detox program?
Every day we add toxins in our body through what we eat, drink, breathe, products that we apply on the skin, etc. And, although our body has a system to eliminate them (lymph, blood, liver, kidneys, colon ...), the truth is that over the years they accumulate to a greater or lesser extent depending on the lifestyle we lead. . This accumulation can cause fatigue, digestion problems and even more serious diseases.
Our own system is quite effective, but to compensate for bad eating habits, lack of exercise and stress, it is advisable to include some detox plan.
From my point of view, it is much more effective to introduce a program in our lifestyle that supports the detoxification mechanisms that our body already has.
What programs are there?
There are several detoxification programs, the best known is fasting, but I recommend incorporating a yoga routine into daily life so that the process becomes a practice that supports the natural detoxification process of our body.
I also recommend following dietary guidelines as part of the daily routine to avoid the accumulation of toxins and promote the elimination of them. This includes fruits and vegetables as a base for your food, especially tomato, lemon, celery, asparagus, apples, pomegranates, garlic, onion, ginger, beetroot, artichokes, parsley and lots of water.
Eliminate toxins through yoga How does it work?
The yoga sequence that I recommend supports the natural process of detoxification, compressing the internal organs, increasing circulation, and relaxing the body and mind, thus reducing the level of stress.
It will be a combination of asanas that include, turns, trunk bends forward, investments and restorative postures
The turns compress the organs of the abdomen area, which favors the digestive process and the elimination of waste. In addition they also favor blood circulation.
The forward body pressures also contribute to the improvement of digestion
The inverted postures favor the stimulation of blood circulation and lymph.
The restorative postures stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which favors relaxation and consequently stress reduction, which will allow the organs to work more efficiently.
