You definitely did the right thing!! I was the boss of 16 employees and didn't have this exact situation come up but a few similar things and it was so challenging. For me it was really challenging at the beginning because I love everyone and wanted to be their friend but that quickly had to change especially when my boss had me fire someone .... it was rough and not easy to just leave work at work. Long reply my apologies what I was trying to say was I applaud you! You did great and what was right for everyone!
