Damon Cole is a Fort Worth Texas Police Officer. Officer Cole was doing a routine charity event at a local Wal-Mart when a man walking out the doors set off a security alarm.
Despite the alarm, the man decided to stick to his plan and head out to the parking lot. Little did he know, Batman was in hot pursuit.
Officer Cole detained the man at his car and began questioning him about the alarm and what goods he may or may not have on his person.
The man (probably stunned by Batman standing there with a notepad) at first refused to have any possession of stolen goods. However, as Officer Cole continued prodding him he admitted to confiscating four DVDs for his son's birthday - one of which was The Lego Batman Movie.
Witnesses to the seen recall hearing the man asking Officer Cole for a special request - he wanted a selfie. “It’s not every day that you’re arrested by Batman.” Officer Cole - with a smirk on his face I imagine - gladly acquiesced to the man's request.
Another Day at the Office
Why was Officer Cole at Wal-Mart dressed as Batman you ask? Because he loves to bring smiles to kid's faces.
In his many trips across the country as Superman, the Hulk, Iron Man, and Batman, Officer Cole has invested $8,000 (for his Batman and Incredible Hulk costumes) out of pocket to lift the spirits of kids struggling with cancer.
Officer Cole now has a non-profit organization Heroes and Cops to help finance his trips, and be in the right spot at the right time to catch the bad guy.

Very nice man. Thanks for sharing :)
You're welcome. :)
Haha.
Ah its great to see there is still some good news in the world!
So true!
I wish he would've given the man the DVDs for his son's birthday back
I suppose that would be up to Wal-Mart to decide. :)
How cool. Neat story, thanks for sharing.
Yes, it is! You're welcome.
Haha I would love to have a dad like him :D
Haha, imagine waking up to wrestling with Hulk. 💪😄
Haha holy shit, then you would be the guy everyone is worrying about :'D
Lol, true!
This cracked me up. I'd love to see the guy's face when Batman napped him. Dastardly deeds indeed lol
That would be an incredible meme picture. Lol, dastardly deeds no good 🦇👮
Can you imagine "I'm Batman...hand over the DVD's and assume the position" lol
Lol, it would be great if one of the DVD's was a season of Cops. Lol...
Classic nabbed in the nick of time lol
Great story! Thank you for sharing!
Yes it is! You're welcome!
👍😎
This is a great story to see. I hear many of the old-timers I talk to speak of how when younger they loved to see Police Officers because they were genuinely helpful and caring. The combat boot wearing, MRAP driving police forces of today can be pretty intimidating.
That is so true. We have come a long way from police officers looking like Andy Griffith.
You make my day. Nice story. The kids deserved it. Thanks for sharing.
It made mine too. Thank you for reading.
I can't imagine anyone being stopped for shop lifting requesting a selfie...how can anyone be that unconcerned about being arrested for theft, regardless of the way the cop was dressed?
Haha, oh there are some intriguing people out there. Shoplifters are a rare breed. Abi could tell you some stories from her time in retail.
beyond me, my friend :)
