A long time ago, someone told me that I should not build my happiness on someone else's pain. Life is like a boomerang: what goes around comes around. Karma has a funny way of paying back, of having you go through what you cause others. You'd be served what you deserve.
When you stumble upon True Love and you are able to recognize how incredibly lucky you are, only then you understand that your only chance to preserve that feeling of pure happiness, is to let the one you love go.
Giving him back to the world with no regrets requires a certain emotional maturity. The lack of control might seem frightening, but it is enabling us to be responsible for our own happiness. I am grateful to have had the chance to meet my soulmate.
People we are attracted to for one reason or another, people that we love, come into our life for a specific purpose which it's not revealed to us right away. Sometimes it takes years or decades to fully understand the role that they play into our life.
Most of the times we tend to hang on them and we feel frightened or sad when they go on a different path than ours. We fail to acknowledge that they fulfilled their role of guiding us. If they are here to stay or no, has nothing to do with our will. Only the universe would know it.
Something within our human nature makes us doubt our capacity of striving no matter what. We have been thought to believe that we need help, and we wait and for it to come from above or somewhere, neglecting to challenge ourselves.
Our guides come to us with the specific purpose of enlightenment. Therefore, they can not act for us; they only reveal to us the fact that there are many ways to solve a problem.
As humans, we chase happiness throughout our life. We shape our expectations according to the length of the efforts we do in order to get to the destination. The destination itself is changing with each dream we have , each wish we make.
There's a very thin line between real happiness and what we would call materialistic contentment. Real happiness has its roots in pure feeling and emotions, whereas the latter is sourced by an insatiable desire of collecting things or people.
Nowadays our desires, wants or wishes are dictated by two opposite attitudes: to have and to be. Which one shapes your beliefs?

To have, to have not, to be & to not be all shape our lives. Imo, life is a dream & dreams are life.
Nice!
"Giving back to the world your true love with no regrets" sounds absolutely logical and has no sense at all to me at the same time.
Hope there is a moment when you can grab your happiness and hold it tight with no regrets and no selfishness included.
Many call it possessiveness, for me it's just a mutual adherence.
@crossroad Thank you for your comment. There's no logic in love, when the heart rules over the mind.
I like that term "mutual adherence". May I quote you on it?
I'd like to say to be, but really I think in many ways it's actually to have. Lovely picture to start with as well.
