Do you often have more slack days than your productive days? Do you have work piling up and you start feeling overwhelmed? Well... maybe it’s time for you to notice little things in your life which contribute to that.
There are several questions to ask such as : is your working environment supportive? do you have the materials to finish your tasks? What are the things that you are spending time more on instead your actual work?
Try answer questions above and start noticing patterns. I personally spend more time on watching youtube and the classic social media habit. I am also a huge procrastinator and deadliner. I love to put off task until the last minute just to give myself some adrenaline kick. Until I am often overwhelmed and decided to change my habit.
Distraction comes in any form. It depends on your personal situation and varies from one person to another. Understanding it will help you have more productive life. Who knows how much you will be more effective? maybe 10 times or even more.
I am trying my best to ditch things that contribute in hindering the process of getting things done. When I answered those questions, I knew that I had to track my screen time and limit it. So, I did. Then, I like clean environment because it boost my productivity. So I clean my working space. I also like listening music in the background when I work. So, I listen classical or jazz which accompany me throughout finishing my task.
These are the things I do that help me minimize my distraction which might help you :
Turn off the cell phone
Cell phone is a sloth enabler. There are so much distraction coming from it such as memes, gifs, food pictures, whatever is there that makes you attached to it. Sometimes you even lose track of time and suddenly it’s half day and you get nothing done. If you can not turn it off, at least set a busy mode or airplane mode.Timing is important
I can not emphasize enough how timing is a crucial things in any productivity tips and hacks. Set yourself a certain amount of time to finish something. That way you will get more things done than not timing yourself.Avoid your triggers
First understand your triggers. Next, try to avoid it as much as possible. Then, limit yourself from exposure of your triggers. If you can’t avoid it, best to stop the task for a moment.Don’t be a yes man
If you find yourself answering questions from your friends or family that can be put off for later, you only hinder yourself from doing your thing. Stop being people-pleaser. People can wait. If they can’t, tell them to call you right away for such an important questions or things.
¿Qué se podría hacer si el mayor distractor son los niños?
