Evening is approaching, but the heat of the day is not in a hurry to leave. There is not the slightest hint that is about to blow a cool wind from the Baltic sea. In St. Petersburg for several days is abnormal heat.

Crowds of people on city streets and squares, parks and squares. On their faces you will not see discontent or disappointment from such hot weather.

On the contrary: people are happy to take the opportunity to walk along the embankments along the rivers and canals; relax on the garden benches, inhaling the aromas of still blooming lilac; sit in the summer cafes, friendly placed their cozy areas everywhere. On the display of the thermometer +31 degrees Celsius.

The city is always characterized by a large number of tourists, but these days we have an economic forum and of course the number of guests has increased significantly. Everywhere a lot of security and police, the city is mired in many kilometers of traffic jams.

Of course our President is also here these days. The government and officials are discussing economic development programs, improving the level and quality of life, plans for the development of infrastructure and new technologies. They talk about how everything is good and how good our ratings and indicators are in all sectors. But do they remember , being in their elite corrupt world, that ordinary citizens significantly fall real incomes, lack of money for clothes and even food ? Ordinary citizens are in an entirely different world, in which impunity for officials, police brutality , failed pension reform , an exorbitant tax burden and barely enough money to survive. But, friends, this post is not about politics...

I just walk through the beautiful places of my city and enjoy this warm evening, the surrounding architecture, the pleasant faces of people. I believe that all should be well.

"Everything goes by, this too shall pass." Any great bitterness, unhappiness, destruction and misery - everything goes and everything is relative.

Today my walk is as always - impromptu. The phone rang. It was a @qwerrie . He offered to take the cameras and take a walk.

Those who live in megacities, know how difficult it is in our mad rhythm to allocate time for such meetings. It is always very valuable to me that people are open to communication. In fact, I could make a whole separate post about what has changed in my life with the arrival of Steemit , back in 2016, but the most valuable thing is that I met a lot of interesting people here. This opportunity to communicate in everyday life is a good confirmation that we are all real people, not fictional characters from the social. networks'. That's awesome!

We wandered through the crowded streets, stopping here and there to capture some interesting fragments. And of course talk, talk ... Thank you my friend for this communication.

Time is relentless, night is approaching and it's time to say goodbye. But the city is not empty, despite the already late time. In St. Petersburg, the period of white nights and the city does not sleep. This is a great time and let it last and last.

Thanks to everyone who finished reading this post. Love life and stay positive! see you soon ...

Thanks, @pixresteemer :)
I love seeing pictures of your beautiful city! I'm glad everyone is enjoying the weather. It has been hotter than usual here in Oregon, too. Time to go play in the water!
I'm glad you enjoyed watching it. Due to the fact that we have only 60-70 Sunny days a year, we especially appreciate such warm Sunny days. Thank you for visiting, @goat-girlz
I visited Moscow 5 years ago in May and it was 37 Degrees Celsius there. I was surprised as we tend to think that it is cold in Russia :) I see that there is another heat way then :)
I have always wanted to visit St. Petersburg. I have heard so much and I am sure that I would fall in love with this city. I haven't visited it yet as it's such hustle with visa to get there.. But hopefully one day..
You took us on a nice evening walk. I like your photos. I didn't know that you could go on water scooters through the canals. I can imagine it's very popular among tourists :)
Thank you for sharing and have a nice warm day :)
It's nice to know that You were able to debunk the myth of cold Russia, having visited and seen such warm weather.
St. Petersburg is too different from Moscow and I am sure that You will really like our city. Despite the fact that I am a local resident, I fall in love with him every time again and again. It is impossible to know him completely. It is always different. Sometimes it may seem that you see a piece of England, sometimes something like France, the variety of rivers and canals - Oh! this is Venice :). I often like to just walk around and enjoy the variety of architecture.
St. Petersburg is kept apart from other Russian cities. In spirit, it is more European and it is felt in many ways. When last year we held the world Cup, it was very nice that most of the people who came to this event, were surprised to discover a completely different Russia, not such as it is represented by the stereotypes. Thank you, @delishtreats, for Your visit and such a good comment!
You both enjoy the walk!
Stay hydrated .
Nice scenery!
Thanks for sharing!

Спасибо за замечательные фотографии, Мариночка!
Всегда приятно узнавать знакомые места :-)
Счастливых белых ночей, дорогая @madlenfox !
Beautiful post. Not only the images, but also the message.
I admire your ressistance to keep the post away from politics, even though it was unavoidable to make a statement, quite a brilliant one, by the way.
I can't do that. I end up always immersed in (and probably smeared by) politics.
It has become increasingly hard for us to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We know this shall pass, but we doubt we'll be here to see it.
Blessings for a life well-lived and for being able to enjoy a great city in apparently promising days.
@ hlezama, people always fall under the millstones of political squabbles and suffer from the wrong actions of government officials. This is very sad to see in different countries. I try not to touch too much on such topics in my blog, but I am very worried about such news and events. You are right when you say that it will ever change in a better direction, but we all want to have a decent life here and now as well. Thank you for such a good comment :)
I miss st PetersbourgNice pictures @madlenfox.
I invite You to visit, my friend! In this city You will always be welcome :)
How fun that you two did a mini meetup for your Wednesday Walk! The pictures are great. And your city is as beautiful as ever! Such weird weather everywhere.
I apologize for the late response,I was leaving to take a break from the computer. I really want to enjoy the good weather, but being in the city, still come to see the comments and new stories from all my friends .... so I decided to run away for a few days, but now I'm back here again

We really had a good time on our walk, especially nice that this is a meeting of two Steemians :)

i loved your visual row. needless to say, mine may be quite different. the angle of my camera simply dont rank to the wide-angle of yours! oh, and occasionally, it was my 2nd time walkout with a living steemian, too! I love such coincidences so much!
I'd love to see Your results. It is always interesting to see how different people look at the same details and fragments. Thank you for Your visit and comment. I hope that the joint stroll will not be the last :)
absolutely!
What a beautiful post my friend.
You are right about two things.
Blessings!I don't know @qwerrie but he seems to be a kind guy and glad that he is around when you go to take photos.
well, at least I am not a spammer / scammer / farmer... and I do like images and photography. see you! @papilloncharity
Great to meet you friend and no spammer/scammer/farmer will do what you do.
I saw the picture about your kindness in the post and I like kind people.
We don't find many kind people in the work that we do here, but on steemit we have found some very good ones that support our vision.
Your reply deserves a "follow"
Blessings to you!
merci! i'd rather quality myself more as altruistic, than kind, but as i am not a native speaker, maybe it can be seen better from aside. I promise to bring only good stuff here. @papilloncharity
I had the opportunity to see and communicate with only three Steemians. But I'm glad that I can communicate with many here. Many of them and You, my friend, including I would very much like to invite here also to walk around our city. I hope that someday it will happen ...
I've never been to St. Petersburg but I've heard it's a very nice city with old historical buildings. Your photos are confirming that, not that I doubted that for a minute. I'm glad those buildings are kept in good condition.
I agree, living in a big city can be difficult sometimes, the rush takes over and you barely have time for anything. Good thing you have friends and Steemit is indeed an amazing place.
@erikah , thank you for Your kind words and support :)
My pleasure :)

Thank you for thsi amazing photo journey through St. Petersburg. A place I never been but truly want to visit someday. Perhaps one day when out leaders work for peace and security. Just a rich place of culure and history. I woul love to see the palace and the great works of Russian art. A girl can dream. We are so lucky to have steem to bring us all closer together and understanding:) Wonderulf post, Madlen:0
Thank you for such a good comment! St. Petersburg is really like a Museum in the open air. Emperor Peter the great, when he created this city, invited the best architects from around the world. The Imperial family brought many outstanding masterpieces of art from their travels, which are now available for viewing by everyone. Therefore, guests from all over the world come to us to see our Northern Palmyra or ,as our city is called , Northern Venice. I am pleased that You have the desire to visit it and I hope that Your dream will come true. By the way, let me know if you plan a visit to St. Petersburg, I am always ready to communicate. I already had the opportunity to show our city to several guys from other countries. It's amazing, but I can definitely say that Steemians are amazing people. Thank you, @prydefoltz, for visiting my blog!

Спасибо, дорогая! Надеюсь что когда-нибудь и сама долетишь к нам :)
Я тоже надеюсь))) Хотелось бы посетить музеи и покататься на катере.
thanks for share with us..Beautiful photographs @madlenfox
Thank you @tussar11 !
I live with +31° almost everyday which means your weather is often cold. Lovely pictures and I am happy people embrace the opportunity to be outdoors.
On average, according to statistics, we have only 60-70 Sunny days a year. The rest of the time - it's all shades of gray :). Therefore, these days there are so many people on the streets and everyone enjoys the sun and warm air. In the coldest winter days the temperature can drop to -25-30 Celsius.
Thanks for stopping by!You are lucky with the climate much more, @fredkese :). You are absolutely right, Our weather is not only often cold, it is also less Sunny.
Wow. I guess there are positives and negatives about everything. Difficult to fall asleep sometimes because of the heat here.

Here it's not a problem :) We find it harder to fall asleep during the white nights. We have to close the darker curtains, lol.
Wow, interesting to know
