There are 2 types of Sleep Apnea:
- Type 1 (OSA):
This condition is also known as obstructive sleep apnea and it is cause by a blockage of the airways. This happens because of the collapse of the throat’s soft tissue while you are a sleep. - Type 2 (Central Sleep Apnea):
This second type is not caused by a blockage of the airways but the fact that the brain is not signaling with the muscles to breathe. This happens because of instabilities in the respiratory control center.
