There are a lot of things today in the world that we want to have and be part of, but majority of them will not make you feel content, nor put you in a happy state.
We all tend to personalize happiness, as a concept. Everyone of us a has a version of it, that we aspire to.
Well, while we may not agree about the specifics, I think there is common ground, except that without thinking a bit about it, is kind of hard to define it, when it first crosses your mind.
Undoubtedly love is at the top, and that is a very broad subject, but today I want to talk about doing what makes you happy, the things we do everyday. But what do we do everyday? Well, we try to make a living earning money, that is usually tied up to a job of some sort, which takes a lot of energy to perform. So let's start right there. We often think that without having money to spend there is not much left to be happy about. There is first and foremost a solid health, and if you have such thing should make you feel really good, don't take it for granted.
When you enjoy good health then you can really do whatever strikes you, be writer, an explorer of some sort, or do anything else that benefits others in a way or another. Even if the things you do may not have a broad reach, as long as you put passion in your craft and people benefit from it that is really something to be proud about. We all want our profession to be appreciated, so we can continue doing what we like and get some sort of feedback, that we are on the right track. Is natural that we want to benefit ourselves as much as those around us, and that is part of the equation.
Try focusing on one thing that you are best at and like spending the most time with. Actually focus on what you like to do, your skills will develop by simply doing the thing you like to do, regardless of what level you are at. We all have to start, and nobody is born an all knowing wizard.
In the beginning you will probably make a lot of mistakes, that is something you will meet with no matter how much or how little experience you have. Actually those with more experience tend to make more critical mistakes, because they rely on their experience more and sometimes ignore the gut feeling. But same as the seasoned hunters, the better you become the more you will hit your target. As you progress in your craft the chances of making mistakes diminishes, but is never out of question entirely, yet don't wait for the right moment to start just because you think of yourself as unprepared, start now!!
The only unforgivable thing that you can do is to delay in setting the first step, other than that feel free to experiment, the more the better. Aim and miss, that is the game to play, and by carefully paying attention in the process and following a plan you will learn to navigate the waters. You may hit a rock or two, but keep a keen eye on the target.
When we follow our gut, no matter how difficult of a task we face and how inexperienced we are, we always find satisfaction, even if it takes a while to be successful.
Doing what makes you happy is essential to personal growth, you will surely make other people happy as well. When you like what you do chances are that there are people to appreciate and support your work, and that is the reward in itself!! What is that saying? "With one stone you hit two birds"?
Just aim at the target and shoot, do not mind where your arrow lands, it will be closer to the objective than if you would've shot in the opposite direction. The real value lies in what you (can) do, not in what you can get. Happiness is freedom to follow your heart.

voted... Money makes me happy. :)
We all like to have money, no question there.
Just think of what you would do, even if you wouldn't need the money, and when you do that with passion money will come along.
Myself I postponed for so many years doing what I wanted to because I was always preoccupied about making money, and guess what, in the end all those money that I made, after so many years of hard work, are gone. that is because I wasn't enjoying what I was doing, it was solely for the money, to have a safety net, but that safety net is now gone.
I now consider it a mistake to prioritize making money, like I did, instead of following your passion.
