My main reason for fully supporting the criticism of feminism in the west is that it is an active danger to young boys in college. Title IX has had so many false accusations produce the destruction of careers that I am keenly aware of how close men are to losing all of their educational progress, and their future careers, simply because someone decides that they just want the men gone. Additionally, the introduction of things such as the Duluth model of gender violence (required for usage by many, if not all police departments, I can't remember) is a policy that targets men in which there is an assumption of guilt upon the part of the man in a domestic dispute, even to the point that guy will be arrested if he is the one who calls the police because he was being attacked by his female partner.
I am well aware that there are many people that have it a lot worse, but I, and many western left-leaning people, see these problems being caused and advocated by feminists, and react to their bigotry accordingly. I am friends with many people who call themselves feminists, and they are purely women's rights advocates. Do I hold a grudge towards them for that, absolutely not, but they are oblivious to these policies that are being entangled with the label of feminist, and thus are completely, without intentions, endorsing them.
That is why I will not and cannot call myself a feminist, though I would label myself as a women's rights advocate, or better yet, an egalitarian.
good that you'll never be, I appreciate it my friend!
Thanks @shohana1!
