When you enter the cluster housing complex where I stay you are greeted by this lovely pot full of "vygies". "Vygies" is an Afrikaans word for these plants that bloom in summer. I googled the word and it translates it to Marigold but somehow it just does not sound right to use the word!
In the same pot there is a Hibuscus that is actually the permanent inhabitant of the pot, as the "Vygies" are seasonal plants. The two however form a great combination together.
In this picture one can see the abundance that the "Vygie" is blooming with.
