First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, presented yesterday to the public the decor of the White House winter holidays. Unlike the Obama style, which last year was defined by lego gingerbread houses and statuary snowmen, Melanie Trump's personal style has set footprint this year. The theme chosen for 2017 is "The Feast of Traditions".
More than 150 volunteers spent 1600 hours to decorate the White House over the weekend. 18,000 light bulbs were used, many of them arranged in the main hall.
A mistletoe was hung at the entrance of the salon where the portrait of President Theodore Roosevelt is.
Two of the 53 trees that decorate the White House are in the same salon on both sides of the Nativity scene.
The reason the First Lady has chosen to commemorate the traditions is to mark the 200th anniversary of the winter holidays at the White House.
Big pots with "snowy" branches are aligned along the hall leading to the eastern wing of the building.
At the end of the hall is a fir tree adorned with the Trump family's Christmas ornament. It is the presidential emblem surrounded by a golden coronet.
Over 300 meters of garlands used decorators to decorate balustrades.
The "official" Christmas tree is in the Blue Salon and is 6 meters tall. It is decorated with glass ornaments, with the steels of all American states.
The Chinese Salon has floral arrangements assorted with the decor of the room.
In the dining room, the confectioners had "built" a mini-white gingerbread house. It weighs almost 160 kg.
In the main foyer the doors are decorated with garlands.
This season, more than 25,000 visitors are expected at the White House.
White House officials say Melania Trump personally chose decorations for the winter holidays this season.
The bookcase is a book of trees, a modern element promoted among DIY Christmas decorations.
The Red Salon usually hosts small parties. It is cheerfully decorated in the color of the room.
This salon, dedicated to portraits of the first ladies, is decorated with green garlands, with large golden globes.
Outwardly, garland arrangements introduce visitors to the holiday atmosphere.
So are the Christmas coronets that adorn each window.
Happy Holidays!
