RE: Life After the Hamster Wheel

It is always nice to read an update like this. I'm happy about the fact that some people are able to make a living by blogging on Steem.

To my knowledge, income from blogging is categorized as other earned income ("muu ansiotulo") for tax purposes. When your other earnings exceed a certain sum per year, you have an obligation to pay pension contributions on them. I think it was €7000 per year or something. You really need to ask an expert.

One option may be to set up a company through which to get paid. That could advantageous for tax purposes. Maybe you already have. But if you haven't, I highly recommend discussing this matter in depth with experts.

It’s funny how a lot of people remind about taxes when someone makes a living with blogging, it’s not like anyone says ”hey remember to pay taxes” when you switch from one regular job to another. So yes, I know that I have to pay taxes from my crypto income when I sell it to fiat.

I wasn't reminding you about your obligation to pay taxes. I was discussing a possibility to optimize your taxes. I also mentioned pension contributions. Please read a bit more carefully.

Different rules apply in cases of self-employment such as this where no employer is in the picture. Also, the pension contribution issue is almost never talked about.

I did read it carefully, and I did get your point.

Which point was not to remind you about having to pay taxes.
